Quick question webbo. Why do the cpu graphs in task manager start to go up on the left side? If it was running 100% for 8 hours it should be 100% for the whole graph? Or am i missing something?

Because he only just opened task monitor to show the cores at 100%, it wasn't open throughout the 12hrs

It's just when you open task manager for the first instance the line comes from the bottom straight to the top to show 100% usage then levels out.

Nice 3.8ghz webbo and on a (B).:)

Oh well beaten to it...could have been from not refreshing page lol:)

Cheers for the kind comments fellas. This will probably be my 24/7 setup as its in my view of what the 'comfort zone' should be. I might try for more later as I don't think thats its limit although its not far off.:)

As for it being a 'B' I think there is too much emphasis put on the week/batchtbh. I've had a mixture of A's and B's with both quad and duo and none could be predicted apart from the 27,28,29b duos. Even those were surpassed by my old 32A (supposedly a poor overclocker). Getting a decent motherboard and stable psu is more important.

Are you the first to 3.8 on overclockers with this chip?

Dunno m8 - hard to tell without a table of some sort and I aint looking thru 33 pages to find out lol. We need a database tbh;)

Cool. Seems there are more A's over the pond and more B's here. I have bought 3 q6600go's from uk and all have been B's. 20b, 23b, and 25b. Hope intel didn't dump there garbage over here.

It was hard to tell as my EVGA seemed to be holding them back so I kept them to 375 fsb limit and the 23b that I have needed the least amount of voltage to stabilise so I kept that one. The 20b was a lot cooler than the other 2 in comparison though and this 23b was the hottest despite the lower vcore. I know someone elses 20b did a pi run @ 4gig so maybe I made the wrong choice maybe not. Happy with what I got though.

I doubt it. I was gonna wait myself but on reading up alittle it seems x38/48 brings little new to the table that the p35 already has. Maybe worth a few extra mhz but nothing worth selling up for if you already have a p35. It just seems like 975x all over again except the x38 will hopefully clock better this time than intels old 'premium' chipset compared to its cheaper sibling.

Was thinking about the P35 DS3R supposedly as good as the more expensive boards...but i think i'll wait a little longer.

Mines priming @ 3.9 now - same settings as before. I'll see how long it lasts before making any further adjustments:cool:

does that mean A's are generally better than B's?
