***The Official Q6600 Overclocking Thread ***

I would drop the multiplier to x7 and max the chipset voltages to see if you can get over 350mhz on the FSB.

This is my new G0. Been running it like this since i got it, with no problems atall.

Im having a strange temperature issue with my Q6600, when running two instances of orthos, i notice that cores 0&1 are running 6c hotter than 2&3.

I thought i might have a concave chip but when i run the nvidia smoke demo alongside orthos, cores 0&3 are 6c hotter than cores 1&2

Windows is showing 100% cpu usage all the way through so im a bit confused, anyone know whats going on?

Cheers mate, im aware, it really doesnt seem like a badly fitted hsf though, depending on what stress testing methods i use i can get different cores to hit the higher temps.

Really odd :)

Got my Quad yesterday and only started overclocking it a couple of hours ago. I ran out of thermal compound so using some cheap white compound which I found till my MX-2 arrrives. Anyhoo...

Got my Q6600 G0 today. Installed it and got it up and running straight in at 3.2Ghz (8x400). Temps are 20/21/20/22 at idle and 37/38/41/40 after 2 hours of prime with a 1.35v vcore. Not too bad for an old waterblock (MP-05 Pro LE). Not bothering with piccys as i have'nt finished by a long shot yet. Hoping for 4Ghz.

How come TAT only gives the temps for two cores and says it's a Penium M?
