Penalties is why England are going out their discipline is a joke

I agree with the poster above about the refs interpretation - many wrong calls in the scrum and calling things that are allowed in other games, while calling many penalties for not supporting body weight when playing the ball in the Wales game.

Again England looked disorganised and lacked impetus for large parts of the game. Ridiculously difficult group, but England didn't deserve to go through; a shame as England have been very good for the most part since the last world cup.

I don't really get the gloating home nation stuff . I'm British, but support England/am English if you want to break it down further... I still like supporting the home nations, though... dat bitterness :o.
Nope, it's a tad tiresome isn't it, immature crap like this:
You can kiss your chariots up your behind ...... woohoo .... get out :)
What a pleasant chap you are. Pathetic.

A part of me does wonder though what the English reaction would be if it was Wales in this position.

I would hope the same as mine and the one I try to instill in the juniors I coach; magnanimity, compassion and understanding, hold a hand out and shake theirs, buy them a drink and say "There's always next time", and definitely don't gloat because it has a real habit of coming back to bite your arse big time.

Really can't complain about that, Australia were excellent. We didn't get knocked out tonight, it was last weekend's showing that has cost us.

I'm supporting Japan now :D

I think it was the other way round as it was the TMO asking him to take another look at it - effectively saying to the referee that he thought it was more than just a penalty which seemed to be what the referee initially wanted to give. It's one you could argue either way, in this World Cup people have been carded for similar tackles and let off for others which looked the same.

Well done to Australia, a more dominant performance than expected and I thought it would be a whole lot closer. I hope England going out doesn't negatively affect the tournament too much or mean that the coverage from now on focuses just on that fact and forgets about the rest of the tournament.

Yes, the ref was happy to let play continue, it was the TMO that called attention to high tackles and then spotted the Farrell tackle and recommend the penalty and the yellow card.

The ref didn't see anything and made no recommendations at all, it was all the TMO.

Farrell took a gamble and it didn't pay off.

They deserved a penalty for one of the high tackles anyway.

Agreed, and considering there were 2 offences in that phase of play on screen I thought Poite again was being lenient until the TMO dropped his hint.

I think Lancaster should stay. We've played better rugby in the last 18 months than we have for along time. Robshaw needs to go though, he offers nothing in attack and has been shown up against Cooper and Warburton in defence... and his decision making has always been questionable.

Lancaster to quit or get dragged out?

He'll fall on his sword, he has many faults but a lack of honour isn't one of them, whether the other coaches will is open to debate.

I'll call the big one now and you've heard it here first (as my prophesies have been on fire tonight :p) Iain Ritchie is on the phone right now to the Stormers and is negotiating the extraction fee for Eddie Jones ;)

England are choke artists and this is where an average team with average players belong, third in the group and out of the world cup.

I disagree, at the start he moved England on then got found out and the team got stuck on a Plateau that was below where it needed to be. The main problem with this coaching setup is it has rubbed against the grain of the DNA of English Rugby, there is no problem with having a more enlightened back line but it needs to be based on a platform of forward dominance and that old English "A" game has been drilled out of them (in fact the props have been lightened in training camp to make them more mobile) and doesn't it show, no positional control and side to side Rugby.

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Woodward back as head coach if he doesn't get interviewed for the French job.

His post is slightly embarrassing.

Ok... i'll back that up ..... In Pool matches that England were not even involved in , all you could hear was "sweet low" .

I'm sorry but that was completely out of order

My best friend is English . He Cringes every time he hears that song .

What in a World cup hosted in...England? There might be English fans? You really are pathetic.

Whats actually out of order is Wales getting to play games at the Millenium Stadium. They should not have home advantage in a World Cup they are not hosting.
