*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Addicted to Sketchbook. Spent the last couple of hours doing this...

I love my Note.

Even though its a sketch i'd to see someone do that on a 4" screen with their big one fingers :P

Having a Stylus is important for a tablet device, especially for the creative side of things. A lot of art is still done using a pen, brush or similar instrument, so using a stylus is logical solution for tablet devices. I think it was great idea of Samsung & Wacom to produce something that is unique in this technology sector. I cant wait for future devices and the improved technologies they'll provide, hopefully there's a stylus in there somewhere too :D Still baffles me why Apple doesn't make an official stylus with the Ipad, it really could do with one :)

Blood Angel? :p

I'm quite happy with my EE 4G contract. I got the phone for nothing, £100 cashback and 5GB of data for £50 a month. But the most important thing for me was coverage as I've had no end of problems with the other networks where I live, to the extent I bought out my o2 contract as it got to the point of not being able to make calls from my house. 3 coverage is patchy at best and I'm never giving vodafone another penny of my money ever.

I pay a premium for the EE contract over the others but I gives me a decent amount of data for tethering which I need for work and the customers I visit are in areas where 4G coverage is actually rolled out.

So far I'm happy with my Note 2, running the 4.1.2 update, call quality has been superb and the data rates are also both high and consistent.

No it's not out yet for us, only on 3 & vodafone according to sam mobile

OK thanks for the reply, I was beginning to think that Samsung had forgotten about my phone.

I take it that there is no official release date either?

I have a silly question and I hope someone might know an answer.

Only had my note 2 for a week now, moved from ios, where I used to use tvguide app, if I set a reminder for a programme it would put it in the notification bar, where does it show within in android?

Thanks for any help

Are you due an upgrade?

No, I am on Giff gaff at the moment on a rolling monthly bundle, so I am shopping around for the best deal on any network. I am. On 02 broadband, so if I do go for an O2 phone I will actually save about £2.50 off my broadband bill.

Can someone clarify what the situation is with notes and 4g. Are all notes 4g capable, or only the ones sold for ee. If there are two types of note 2's how should I know the difference? Is the none 4g version cheaper?

In the notification bar :p

Notifications should show in the notification bar.

That app seems horrible though, I just downloaded it to test it on my phone and every time I try and set an alert the app just stops responding. Then after force closing it and reopening it I try and set a reminder again and it says it's already set. So I check what programs I have alerts for and I have none :D.

Apparently someone on the market has notifications working, as when the notification is supposed to happen he gets a message saying that TV Guide has stopped working :p.

In the notification bar :p

you would think so wouldnt you ;)

Thanks bloomfield, would seem the app isnt as polished on android yet then.

Can anyone recommend a good tv app like this one, so i can set alerts up etc?

Thanks :)

I saw in the comments of the app that TV Guide Lite was better (ie working and has more features, was a comment from someone that had previosuly used TV Guide on iOS). Personally I can't recommend anything as I download all my TV shows :p.

If anyone has rooted their phone, can you please tell me if it erases any data on the phone?

I'm looking at rooting but I can't be bothered if it means I have to re-play all my games/apps again to get back to the same state.

Many thanks.

No, rooting doesn't delete anything :).

If you're not on LL7 download Chainfire's Exynos Exploit root app, if you're on LL7 you'll have to use CF-Auto-Root :).

Edit: I keep meaning to say that's an awesome drawing (or whatever they're called when done with a stylus :p) Plunk13 :D.
