****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II ACCESSORIES Thread***

Someone had suggested putting clingfilm on your work surface as it tends to attract the dust and that's what I did, but it still happenned.

Will try the combined steam and tape trick next time. Thanks.

Otherwise the official protector looks and feels good, better than the unbranded one I had before.

Decided to go for the SGP Steinhell Ultra optics instead of the official one again. £10.35 for 2 from Ebay (Korea).

Anyone know or owns the cheapo (£5) in-car holders + chargers from Ebay? At that price, I'm thinking it's worth a purchase instead of the £20 Exogear mount I'm considering. The latter does seem more robust to fix inside the car and hold the phone. How do the standard cheap ones fare?

i have the exo gear and quality is great. as long as it doesn't break i can't see why i'd ever replace it as it's great quliaty, will hold any device small enough (can't see anything bigger then sgs2 in coming years) and allows access to all buttons on the phone so i can still change volume, turn off screen, plug in charger or headphones.

Meh..... My Official Samsung case as cracked already.... Well that lasted long....

mine is in bits now. one drop on laminate floor, wasn't even a hard drop, the phone probably would have been fine without the case :p

So i'm thinking about ordering the below...comes to £80...any comments or alternatives i should consider?

Jabra Clipper Bluetooth Stereo Headset
USB Host Cable
Samsung Battery for Galaxy S II
Samsung Vehicle Dock Kit for Galaxy S II

I'm looking for the following accessories:

  • Car dock - However, I want it to fit securely to air vents rather than the windscreen. Only ones I can find are cheap universal ones, or the apparently "magic" ones that stick without an adhesive pad but I'm pretty sure I heard these aren't that great? Any recommendations?
  • Sports arm band - Half the ones from eBay are from HK and it looks like stock levels are awful. I really like the look of the Belkin one's, bit more expensive but look better quality. However, all the phone accessory shops are sneaky and I've nearly been caught out by sites that don't make it clear that they actually have stock to ship!

Received my Zenis dock today from Korea. Thoughts:

No charger or usb cable. Thought it would at least come with one of them. Same or other owners?
It is a very snug fit with my S-line case so have to push it in a bit. ALso means taking out cannot be done with just one hand unless I blutack the dock to my desk. (Talk about being lazy). But once docked, it's fine.
Considering you get a car charger + cradle from £5 from Ebay, and this dock feels a bit cheap, I am surprised it's £15. But hey ho, seems to work and there are many docks that will accept a phone with the case on.

So now waiting for my SGP Steinhell Ultra optics screen protectors next week and thinking about which car cradle to get...

yesterday i bought a in car charger from carphonewarehouse . i asked them for a s2 in car charger and they gave me a Mobile Micro USB car charger. its not a samsung brand. before i use it, has anyone else bought a in car charger from carphonewarehouse like this...

it will most likely be 500ma which isn't quite enough juice to power sat nav and charge, it will slowly lose battery

Was thinking of getting a spare battery/charger for mine, but opted instead for a battery pack thing (a Trent Dual-port Pack IMP50D) to save having to swap out batteries. On special offer today only, £16.99:

Note that the code didn't do anything for me. Amazon customer service told me to email them the order number and they'd apply the discount separately. Still, looks like a nice alternate to spare batteries!

Yep, code not working. Their Customer Services are useless too. Shame, as I'd have ordered one lol :D

Where can I buy a spare GENUINE 1650mAh battery if I ever need one? All I see everwhere is very cheaply priced replacement batteries for the SGS2 in all sorts of mAh except 1650mAh. I wouldn't want anything but bone fide genuine since I think copies might be next to useless.

I had a good look around, but other than very pricey ones (£30+) I didn't see anywhere that I trusted to send the genuine article.

Check out this article about "compatible"/higher capacity mobile batteries as well:
