****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Strange thing is I click delete apn settings on both then restore default and it adds them again but I can't get th 3g side to work.

Are you saying that the _internal_ storage is also FAT???
Though that was ext4 as well... I know that the sdcard have to be FAT, but not the internal storage.

I don't think anything has changed on that score from the SGS, other than dumping RFS for EXT4. Internal/External storage is/was FAT32.

Do we know if all the UK stock is 16GB?

I found out the Phones4U handsets are. What about other suppliers?

I think the 32gb model has been dropped in the uk, at least it seems to have been for launch.

I whacked a 16gb SD card in mine, making it 32gb total, and really have more space than i know what to do with.

Confirmed, all USB storage is FAT32. As i said in a previous post however, splitting mkvs and setting up a seamless playlist is childsplay so the main reason for people wanting NTFS is covered.

Hey, it is probably the network. Orange have been having massive issues with 3g today. Check twitter etc, massive outage and still not resolved. I was confused why my internet wasn't working, its still broke by the looks of it!

Hey Streeteh, can you define where photos and recorded videos are saved? Like defaulting it to the micro SD card for example? Also, what's the max length you can record for 720p and 1080p video?

Cheers :)

I done a 3 minute 1080 so far came in at over 300 meg, I guess the limitations is how much storage you have left.

Just done a test video and I believe video's/pictures etc are defaulted to the phones memory.

Apparently Both pay monthly and payg SG2 of locked, thats the answer i got when calling them. Same goes with my cuz sony arc locked even on contracted :( wasnt all there monthly phone unlocked before :(

Can someone please post there APN settings for orange, I seem to have lost mine in networks and the ones I have found on google don't give me 3g/hs back.

Interesting, I've been sporadically loosing the Orange data connection over the last few days. Though it was the phone playing up but looks like a network problem?

APN: orangeinternet
username: user
Password: pass
MMC:234
MNC:33
(the rest default)

Edit: should've read teddy3578's post :o

Thanks for the heads up thought it was something i had done.

Yes I'm norwegian, hope I'm not gonna get banned or something, seeing this is a UK forum;-)

Haha, of course not! I just wondered as my girlfriend is Norwegian and you dont really see many Norwegians about :)

Do you work for ARM at Trondheim or just have an interest in this stuff?

What's the best program to split mkv's.

I don't have a clue if it's the 'best', however i've used MKV2VOB to test. This automatically remuxes files for PS3 use (not needed) and then splits them into 4gb chunks for FAT32. I'm sure there's programmes that just do the latter out there as, even though these days most MKVs are already compatible with PS3s, reencoding some files can take a while and isn't necessary as this phone'll play anything.

By default they are stored to the phones internal storage, however iirc you can define where you'd like it to save images/video to in the options (will confirm in a moment). As Jabbs said the limitation is pretty much the size of the storage available. Someone previously said it stated a maximum recording length of over an hour using their phone storage (which would work out about right for the storage volume)
