****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Having had my iphone 3g snatched off me about 7 months ago, I've had a crappy Nokia classic thing with my sim free contract on o2. I Was looking at the HTC desire HD then the atrix 4G and Galaxy S2. Looks like I'll be holding out for the S2 which I don't mind waiting for as I'll be using the other halfs Blackberry Curve when she upgrades in a few weeks.

I would have thought I would have missed my iphone a lot more than I have. Just seems to me Android OS is getting better and better as times go by.
 
I bet we get the SGS2 quicker than we had to wait for the HTC Desire HD. Been keeping my upgrade on hold since september should be free ofr me ;)

Thanks, 480 x 800 isn't bad at all, not far off the IP4 and I think you'd struggle to tell the difference between 640 x 960 and 480 x 800 really, unless they were side by side. If they can sell them for less than £500 a throw I think Samsung could be on to a winner here...

I think I'll tell him to wait until this is released before getting an upgrade, it sounds like the one to get. :)
 
I'm quite surprised the resolution is the same as those phones with a 3.7inch display (Desire). I'll have to check it out and see if it looks any different to my desire before plucking one of these up :)

Desire has amoled right? Those displays use a pentile matrix which actually makes it look like a worse resolution than it is.

SAMOLED+ goes for a more traditional approach.

You also have to remember you have a 4.3 inch screen with 480x800 and a 3.5 on the iphone 4 with 640x960 so the difference is big in things being pin sharp,the I4's display really is a joy to use and doesn't suffer like the Desire HD with things looking washed out and poor viewing angles.
 
Anyone got any more info on the ability on the SGS2 doing this "You can remote lock, remote wipe, remotely control your phone - blacklist certain apps you don't want the thieves to have access to. And finally, see your device on a map."

Will there be some kind HTC Sence log on via the internet?

even if it doesn't there is software out there that does this for android phones (some require root) and it's not overly expensive :)

saying pentile is horrible and fuzzy is wayy over hyped - my desire oled is pentile and its more that crisp enough.
