****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

i prefer stuff like that just to keep it safe in the pocket, have cases on a phone defeats what samsung have tried to do in making it thin and sleek, i know it protects you, but when in use of showing someone i like it how it is,

Aye, but thats passed down in teh overall case size fitting on a smaller form, so its still thinner and sleeker than previous phones with cases on them.:D

Nah just in case, I was lead to believe it was a more cotteny kinda finish/ feel.

This shouldnt make any difference at all, infact as I understand it the Wifi radio uses less than the normal one so should save battery? As for GPS it isn't used at all unless a application requests the use of it so that won't use any battery either unless you are actually using apps that need GPS in which case you'd have it on anyway.

i have proved that to be the case. leave wifi on when you are not connected and it WILL kill the battery a lot quicker, its constantly powered and scanning networks everywhere you go with your phone.

GPS will do the same if you have location services on as well.

just got off the phone to tmobile. the guy said i wasn't being capped at all no way they could do this but then said i'm on the standard web package which has a speed limit of 5.5 meg per second and the web n walk which is what they sell to their customers with android phones has a speed of 8 meg per second. he said i chose the lower speed (but not speed capped) package with buymobilephones.net as that's all they sell. i also asked does that mean i ca get HSPD (or whatever it's called) and he said yes but it's unlikely as it's new and hadly around and some reason now i'll get speeds of 6.5 meg possibly.

how come peopel are getting better answers then me?

Did you manage to get any better answers from T-Mobile regarding this Mammalian?

i went for this pouch from fleebay, it was £5 with free postage, i prefer this style

lots of colours, i went for black

I've got that case, or a similar one mine has a pouch on the front, got it from amazon for about the same (maybe a touch less, can't remember now)

As said it doesn't feel as good as it could on the outside, but overall it's quite good, and like you I prefer to have a sleeve case and bare phone,

Might end up with the £30 sleeve case though although would like to handle one to see exactly what it's like before putting that much money down, at least with the Mofi case it's basically a throwaway cost :p

Yep, tho I am talking about going into phone settings/ sounds. sms etc..their no option to select an MP3 or anything ive loaded to the phone.

the Portal 2 soundboard must have sommin built within the app to allow acess.

lol..might use the final song as a ringtone just thinking.

If you follow the steps in post 2 you should be able to use your own files for notifications. I've only tried it for alarms so far but its working fine

The O2 latest Ke1 firmware came out at the same time as well. This is probably inline with the new Android partnership program where the latest phones will be updated for at least 18 months perhaps.
02 arnt part of that partnership.

There appears to be a few small bugs with the GS2 from what ive read, which is a shame as i was gonna get one next weekend (can get one for a good price). I think i'll hold off till a good portion of them have been fixed and/or custom ROMs are available.

WooHoo! Got mine half hour ago...Chitter Chatter (T-Mobile vendors) were able to apply my full discount same as T-Mobile direct.

Unlocked and Unbranded too!

I'm feeling soo giddy right now.:D:D

Both cases came today, surprisingly good quality considering they were only a few quid. wraps around the phone so all corners and edges are protected. The screen protectors they come with as about as good as I am Particle Physics so I threw then as far as I could and then had to go pick them up and put them in the bin *sadpanda*.

With the cas eon the whole phone is pretty much exactly the same thickness as a HTC Desire without a case so it's still thin.
