****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I get 10.3mbps write speed and 19.7mbps read on my 8gb class 6, not bad really?

plugged in via usb i'm trying to transfer a video file that's 697mb to my 16gb class card plugged into my mobile. i'm currently getting speeds of 861 kb/s which is so slow. any way to improve this? this may be a windows thing as i've had slow speeds on other usb devices for some unknown reason.

Latest statement from the jokers over at V.F What a bunch of jokers they really are.

"We promised we'd come back to you with the latest information and we've got some good news for Samsung Galaxy S 2 pre-order customers. The device passed the testing process on Friday and the handsets are winging their way to our warehouse now.

We'll start to dispatch them to pre-order customers from Wednesday this week, which means they should arrive within 2-4 working days of 18 May, subject to customers passing our credit check and our regular Ts & Cs for online orders"

I'm a VF customer but got fed up waiting and didn't really want to risk getting bloatware so bit the bullet and bought 2 from CPW, one for me and one for SWMBO. She loves it, total geek

Hrm, any way to find out which apps are using wifi/GPS?

I noticed that something is trying to use GPS... Went into the Settings > Apps > Running and killed loads of stuff but it was still trying (and failing as I'm indoors).

Perhaps I need a better task manager app?

Hmm not really looked into it but maybe Android's battery meter wil give detailed info about gps usage?

This is my Joyflash 16GB Micro SD Card Class 10 from the bay that cost £17.50.

Any way to make the SMS tone more quiet that the lowest volumne on the ringer...still a bit loud at my desk in work!

...I normally increase mine but you could decrease them too if you need.

The way I do it is select the ringtone/notification etc that I want. Normally a clip from an mp3. Load it into GoldWave/Audacity etc and cut out the bit required. Then increase the volume using the tools in the program and save the resulting file to the phone.

GoldWave has an option to ½ the volume, don't know about Audacity etc though.

I got the official Samsung case from P4U and a Case Mate Barely There one (for £12 from CPW) in black.

They're both pretty much the same but I think the Samsung one is a more grippy texture and the case mate one covers the edges a little bit better.

CPW had the Case Mate Tough Case for £15 which looked good but it has covers over the power and volume buttons which in my experience from the Gelli case can make the buttons tough to press and is quite irritating.

They're both good, either would do :)

My only gripe with the phone thus far is the inability to control the volume using the headphones.
The stop / next track / previous track operations with the single button buds supplied aren't as easy or intuitive as the iPhone.

Also - I've got some Monster Turbine buds with button and volume control. The button operates the phone fine but the volume rocker is not operational. Was looking for some kind of app to make it work but can't find one :(

Oh and it takes an age to charge!

Other than that - couldn't be happier
