****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

So you finally decided then! ;)
Yeah, a mate at work got one. Still not convinced by the build quality, but it works out win win really. £2.99 for a case should help allieviate the problem, and failing that, put up with it for 6 months and get a new phone when my contracts up. :p
Tbh, im mainly going for it as its the phone of the moment and im getting it, after it all works out, for about £100. :p.

The battery has been excellent for me today and I needed it to be for a lot if traveling.

Its been on battery for nearly 18 hours and in that time the screens been on for 3 hours 45 mins, an hour and a half of music with the screen off, lots of random browsing the net through the day, half hour our or so of video, 45 mins of calls and lots if game playing and txting. It's now sat on 10 percent remaining.

Chuffed with the battery life!

at a guess i'd say it's when the phone isn't locked but the screen is off which i think happens if you don't lock the screen manually but let it to sort itself out so after whatever time you set it'll turn screen off but still be unlocked for another minute or so. tbh though i could easily be wrong i'm completely guessing here

Khaaan i checked out that case of yours that i liked....and found that it does not offer any protection to the top or bottom.
Don't get me wrong I still think the case a great case but i need more protection.
Now i don't like purse cases or wallet cases.
Case mate seems to look ok has anyone found any other others so far?

Also need a good screen protector i have ordered a cheapy for the moment got my eyes on a Martin Dawes version but they are out of stock has anyone found a very good one that most people are using?

It comes to something when we are happy with a battery lasting less than 24 hours :(

My old SE C905 lasted 2 weeks when I was on holiday once and had forgotten my charger. I love my SGSII though - a beautiful piece of technology.

I bought a Proporta hessian pouch initially, but despite it being advertised as suitable for smart phones up to 12cm (the SGSII is 11.5cm), it doesn't fit (is too short - at least 1cm of the device protrudes).

I then bought a Casemate bumper from CPW, which is nice but I really want a pouch - I don't like the idea of an exposed screen, but don't want to use a screen protector. They also excessively collect fluff!

I may try and get hold of a flapped case, I've seen a very nice one in this thread.

Well it stands to reason when you think how much more powerful the phone internals havce progressed in comparison to the battery technology... one shoots forward with plenty of headroom to go while the other has been stagnant for a good while now. Roll on fuel cells etc.
