****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Are any of you root users running setCPU on this? I haven't bothered yet myself but read a few posts on XDA suggesting the phone tends to run at full clocks even when it doesn't need to.

Not a happy bunny!! Accidently put my phone in same pocket as my car keys (drunk of course) now i have a nice fine 1 inch scratch going across the screen!!! I was going to get a screen protector but few people on here said not to bother as it has this bulldog screen which you cant scratch? Wish i did now!!

More people said to get a protector than not... hope others learn from this and play it safer than sorry.

I had a play with a SGS2 the other day and only the size is holding me back from upgrading from my iPhone 3Gs. It just seems a bit too wide and about 5mm too long.
I think a 4" screen with a qHD res would be the sweet point.

The phone is stupidly quick though.

you get used to it, desire was same size as 3gs and its strange for a day or two then its perfect.. lot of happy people on here :)

Echoing Jimlad, you soon get used to it. To the point where holding a smaller phone feels like picking up a kids toy.

lol this is so true

Also when tilting the phone to text in landscape mode it isnt working now. I have checked motion settings, and all the options in messaging and cant find anything to enable/disable. Even turned the phone on off etc etc. Any ideas guys??

Even ear rings can scratch your screen so yes its worth having.

You can copy the files by choosing USB debugging mode from Settings>Applications>Development. Then connecting the USB cable (the phone becomes a mass storage device) As for album art, I use Helium music manager to manage all that and tags on the desktop. If you want an app on the phone, PowerAmp can fetch album art for you.

You don't even have to do that - I don't use Keis at all to put libraries of music on - I just plug the phone in, and although Keis does come up, I use it to check for firmware updates mostly.... Simply open my computer, go to the phone and u can either select the sd or internal storage, just go in there create a music folder, and drag all your mp3s into it... job done, the media scanner on the phone will pick them all up.

Cheers Ice. I have played around with things this evening & its def better to do it that way. Kies picks out crappy low res artwork and wrong album titles for some albums.

Fire up System Panel lite and see what the cpu activity/load is doing? You should be able to spot any excessive scaling.

Yeah that works too. I connect to computers without Kies though so need it as a mass storage device.

Anyone know how to tie in the system sound along with the ringer volume? I've tied ringer and notification sounds with Widgetsoid but there is no option for system sounds. I'd like the phone to be silent when it's on silent!
