****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I went for buymobilephones.net, there are 2 really good offers IMO, cant beat the price, plus £30 cashback through Topcashback.

That latter one would suit me down to the ground. I'm currently in a contract with T-Mobile directly until 18th May, would I be able to port my number across to the new contract even though it's the same network?

No, as that would be effectively upgrading, but with a 'new customer' deal (which are always better).

If you are hellbent on keeping it, you could port to pay as you go sim on another network, then port back after a month.

I did this going from Orange, to Virgin, then back to Orange, sneaky ninja that I am.

I'm opening a 3rd T-mob contract, then doing what is mentioned above on PAC ;)

The upgrade deals I am led to believe will not be anywhere near as good.

That's what I'm thinking, I could probably sell my Hero for £60-70ish, so that plus the cashback rafster mentioned would essentially cancel out the slightly more expensive contract (my current one is about £27) and having to buy the handset.

Tempting...I presume there are still networks around giving out PAYG SIMs for free?

Yup...http://freesim.orange.co.uk/register/, sure O2 do them too

Just realised...I was reading the "Upgrade" date on my contract as the actual contract end date, but that's actually a month later still. Not sure I can afford to do that, but I'll give T-Mobile a call and see what they say.

On a related note, the S2 is now on T-Mobile's site under Coming Soon; says it'll be available from June.

how long do you get these days befoer you can say contract is no good and get it sent back? my concern is i don't want to have same issues i've had with orange/htc hero for reception so happy to try whatever but don't want to be stuck. i'd love to preorder this now so i know at least just 1 week left

I'm also interested in this, from buymobilephones.net for example as that seems to be where the good deals are.

Incidentally, I've never bought a contract from third party before and never taken out insurance, are the third party vendors easy enough to contact for customer service after sales etc?
