Well, that's mine pre-ordered; thanks rafster for posting those links.
Really looking forward to it, have felt that my Hero has been too slow for quite some time now. It can't handle any new games smoothly, even a lot of standard apps like Pulse are choppy, and with apps getting bigger, it simply doesn't have enough memory. It's served me very well and it's been great watching Android get bigger and better, but it's definitely time for something with more power.
Part of me would like the Sensation purely for the new Sense UI, but I think I'll be far happier overall with the SGS2.

I wouldn't worry about that too much to be honest. Plenty of other launchers are available.
If I get this, one of the first things I'll do is install Launcher Pro.

Probably just me having been slow all this while, but just tested my new Joytech MicroSD in it's SD adapter in my dSLR and it worked flawlessly, so off to order another!

Just cancelled my order with Expansys and re-ordered with Gum Mobile as they are sure it will be the 28th when they get to send the item out, so Friday being B/H I've opted for Saturday delivery at a slightly eye watering £20 extra, but that still comes in at the same price as Expansys, albeit without the Quidco, and means I'll not have to wait an extra week due to work rotas.

Phone4U also released the Desire HD a week early but it was a right pain finding a store with stock and when you did they refused to sell SIM free, even though they say they would when called.
I did eventually find a store who after a hard fight sold me one sim free.
So if you want an SGS II without a contract it's some thing to be aware of.
Was also difficult getting a HD7 sim free from O2 shops.
I'm sticking to my online order this time around even if it is a week later.

Thank you - just saved me over £200!
Bonus I ordered from there on Monday you also get a free 8gb card with it, I was skeptical about it coming on the 27th but looks like a good chance now.
That is interesting, they only do them on Orange though at the minute, will it be factory unlocked?

do you think the buymobilephones one will be providerless, ie a vanilla version bundled with tmobile airtime?
By this I mean not loaded with tmobile bloatware.
I imagine it should be. My sp5 and tytnII from there was.

Yep, they will be. T-Mobile themselves say the SGS2 will be available from June, so I imagine they need the extra month to ensure the startup animations, logos and useless extra apps are as annoying as possible to the user.

I am now thinking of getting this, as an upgrade from my HTC Desire. Any opinions on battery life?
Nothing definitive yet, but the device should use less power overall and has a bigger battery than most phones do at the moment. So it should be better than most Android phones are right now.
