****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Might try my luck at the P4U scattered around Nottingham tomorrow and see if they'll sell me one. SIM free that is.

i wasn't really even looking forward to this phone but after reading the recent reviews i can't wait. It might also be something to do with the fact that my desire is getting a bit quirky these last couple of weeks! Poor thing must know it's off to mazuma soon :p

I'm a newbie here....but been reading this thread for weeks now...because I've been damn excited about the S2

I went into my local P4U to see if they could match their online deals and then i could walk out the store with it there and then but alas no...so they called their web match team so I could get their £99 + £20pm deal on Tmobile= cheap as chips for me

Only for me to fail the credit check....i actually wanted to cry lol.

I know why I failed; too many credit checks in a short space of time-trying to increase my student overdraft! **** take is that i didn't really need the money but I kept trying my luck-not knowing it would have a baring on my report!

Tmobile told me to try again in 3 months :'(

I reaaallly want this phone.....but i don't want to ruin my credit even more by trying other providers with no guarantee of success!

I can't afford £500 right now for the sim free-would take about 3 months lol

Long story short: is it likely to come out on pay as you go for much cheaper?

P4U said the lock situation is different between online/in-store orders, so even if its unlocked it doesn't mean yours will be.

Burger and chips now finished.

Samsung still written on the front top of the phone.

Bought it under Contract to Orange 24 months, so phone came for free.

Currently going through the google set up process singing in with my Google account.

As a note before I give some first impressions I'm moving to this from an iPhone 3GS.

Small Black Box, similar in style but not as shiny as an iPhone box
In box is the phone
in-ear headphone with mic and different size ear buds, much better than the standard iphone earphones. Though not tested their sound quality yet.
Power plug and cable
USB Power cable
Manual
Battery

1st Impressions.
Pro's
Nice, big, bright screen.
Very Light
Very thin
Back of battery cover feels like it's made of cheap plastic/cardboard when off the phone, though does feel better when replaced onto phone.

Initially it feels cheaper than the iPhone, I think this is down to the weight being so much lighter.

At Having problems connecting to my home wifi, I have two routers in the house and it won't connect to the one in my study, though will connect to the one in the back of the house.

Have signed into my google account and have now gone into the main scree. Orange have switched on my Sim, so have received some messages and the message screen looks good.

Main Screen

Apps Screen

Off to fully set it up, with contacts, music, film etc. So will probably post back a fuller review tomorrow after I've had a good play with it.

Lovely!

2 things, can you check to see if this has NFC and secondly, your views on audio quality via headphones compared to your iPhone.

Many thanks

Thanks to Supertaff for letting me know Cribbs Causeway had them in stock I'm just back from picking it up (and then seeing TT3D, hence the delay), the screen is amazing, and the speed especially when coming from a Magic :D :D :D
