****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Has anyone got any cool tips to change how auto brightness works? Whenever mine is checked it just seems to default to almost 100% brightness, no matter what the ambient light is like.

Lux auto brightness I think. You can get it from the Android market.

Never used auto brightness though so I could be wrong.

I'm trying out CM 10 now, everything seems stable so far!

Well apart from me somehow soft bricking my phone, so I had to reflash a stock image through ODIN, re-root through ODIN and then I flashed CM10 through Clockwork recovery..
Titanium Backup restored nicely too, which was nice.

Yeah I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Should be sweet once HWcomposer is fixed!

Can't wait for ParanoidAndroids update :D

Honestly, I know it's "broken" but a lot of people would think it isn't. It's smooth even now!

Camera, Wi-Fi, Messaging and 3G works, so I'm going to run it from now on to see :)

I've been running CM10 since this morning, pretty good impressions so far. Turn off the transition, and opening the app drawer with Apex is instant :p

Only issue I'm having at the moment is battery drain, it uses 1% a minute whilst in use!

Hi guys,
Is there a quick pain free way of restoring my phone back to factory settings? Its rooted at the minute with an old ICS ROM on it. I need to unroot because its got to go in for repair.
Thanks

I'm using Resurrection Remix, and I had to put on a different kernel as WiFi wasn't working. However Siyah kernel seems to drink the battery... it doesn't last a full day now.

Not really sure which kernel is best to use with it - anyone have any suggestions?

I think that may be due to Mediascanner. Although I haven't tried disabling it at the moment.

How is everyone liking it so far?

The Halk I have been using Dark Knight kernel up until today. I've never used Ressurection ROM though.

My S2 on three is being pushed a 30Mb software update. Im guessing its the 4.0.4 update?

After upgrading, still seem to be on 4.0.3, but phone is snappier.

JellyBean flashed and loving it......camera seems to work too. Is back on charge now so will have a play tomorrow. Also good to see what the battery life is like. Could get 2 days on last ROM.

Guys, I'm having a little trouble rooting my SII I9100P.

I tried to use this guide with Odin.

My kernel version is: 3.0.15-I9100PBVLP6

Therefore I downloaded the kernel: CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LP6-v5.2-CWM5

Followed the steps, flashed and Odin reported 'PASS' in green. However my phone refused to boot and constantly displayed a yellow warning triangle. Flashed again, same problem. To resolve I had to flash the stock ICS and now it's working again.

Is this root guide invalid now or did I flash with the wrong kernel?
