****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

If they update the S2 thats not bad, 2 major software release is a decent run time for a phone, the S2 was one of the first to get ICS aswell, even if it is a touchwiz raped up versions xD.

HTC have updated a bunch of phones to ics and are still working on bringing ics to the remaining phones, more than just 2 phones like some companies.....

You have to remember Samsung do tablets too - HTC...wherez youz tableto's? :p

Samsung's other phones really do not deserve ICS+JB - they are low end phones. The Galaxy R did infact get ICS recently.

And do they actually update any of those tablets (apart from the top end ones like the 10.1 etc.)? :p Which tablets are getting JB?

True, they need to bring something new to the tablet market as the Samsung and the ASUS tablets are dominating the android tablet market. Haven't they got a tablet coming out soon though? Rumours that is has a 1080P screen or something?

Yeah they aren't high end phones like the GS 2 etc., however, they are very capable of running ICS and should still be updated (I am sure that they are very popular as well i.e. the ACE mobiles due to some of the amazing deals, see a lot of people with them :o yet they are on 2.3 and won't get the update to ICS), the desire S isn't exactly top end today either (still decent hardware) yet it is still getting ICS (and Sense would consume more storage than touchwiz).

Heck, if the spica can get ICS working apart from a few features (not officially) then Samsung can bring it to the more powerful phones officially :p :o

Samsung are just coming to the end of completing ICS rollout on their tabs and phones - ICS was a massive update and it was executed and optimised very well - at least on my 7.7 anyway.

JB update will be quicker to implement and would be nice but ICS with the latest update does everything that I really need - so I won't be heart broken if it doesn't arrive - even though there's a chance that it will for the tabs - deffo for S2, NOTE, S3.

People who buy phones like the ACE really do not care about the latest SW updates - 2.3 does all they need. They know where to go if they want a decent phone :p

I'm guessing there's a lot of testing to be done on a big OS updates - phones like the ACE really do not qualify for that level of dedication IMO.

Anyone bought Anker® 2 x 1900mAh Li-ion Batteries for Samsung Galaxy S2 II GT-I9100, Galaxy S2 II i9100, Galaxy S2 II 9100G + 1 x Travel Charger ?

Can't order, Amazon doesn't ship to my country of course :( what's EU anyway?

Got a problem with my S2, everytime i fully charge it, and unplug the charger it still thinks its charging and the battery is flashing doing my head in, anyone know how to sort it?

So guys, I've tried CM10 last week and have been running it for about a week. Was quite happy until it started really lagging recently. Seems like we'll have to wait for a while before Project Butter is implemented completely.

So... what is a stable ICS ROM with good battery life these days? I was on Checkrom and Sensation before but they both seem dead for the S2. Any recommendations? I prefer Samsung ROM's (with crap removed) but AOSP will do too.

This happened to me - I tried cleaning the USB port to no avail. Ended up having to buy a replacement port from ebay and fit it with some guidance from a youtube vid. Not as painful as you'd expect and pretty cheap!

What ROM/kernal are people using these days? Still using an old version of cyanogenmod...

Anything with lots of flexibility/options and decent battery usage out there that is stable? Been out of the loop for a good while. :)

What is EU?

European Union.

I'd just grab the official 2000mAh official battery to be fair it can be found fairly cheap.
