****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

my s2 just started charging for no reason - it wasn't even plugged in :) i guess the mini usb port is going? anyway i plugged it in a few times and it disappeared?

what else would cause this?

Saw a little bit up what ROM are people using..

Vanilla RootBOX v2.4 [JellyBean] & Siyah Kernel 4.1.5, and it's an awesome combo!

It's smooth as butter and lasts forever, done quite a bit of texting, few phone calls, couple of pictures, facebook and web browsing as well as emails.

so my s2 will be going to a recycling site.. got 204 for it :o quite good compared to others, and ill be getting a one s or nexus for now..

not all that good? :D 4hrs+ is good in my eyes and i had a few ROM's lasting that long

That's what I'm thinking too. None of the Jelly Bean ROM's so far have really great battery life when you actually use the phone.
I'm easily getting 4 hours screen time on Wanamlite with Siyah, quite happy with this set-up.

Like my S2 but fancy a change to something with fully working JB! Ideally without Samsung interference. CM10 isn't bad but it'll probably never be finished.

Always wanted a nexus handset - worth changing to the Galaxy Nexus (anyone used both)? If I get £204 for the S2 there isn't much outlay, but it's an outlay non the less.

I am currently in the same position, and was thinking along similar lines.

I will therefore be very interested to hear other members opinions... and also what you decide to do.

The galaxy Nexus does certainly look interesting!

Well I bought a Galaxy Nexus today and I have to say it's great. Definitely a step up in terms of screen - higher pixel density is nice. The S2 from the S was a bit of a disappointment in that regard.

I got the JB update on and, well, wow. It's SO smooth across everything, and everything works as it should. Can't recommend it enough to be honest. Only thing is there may be a new handset soon, but I see people with the Nexus S still very happy and running JB, so it's probably got more longevity than the S2 imo.

You certainly didn't hang about, did you! ;)

Who did you buy it from in the end?

Cheapest deal I can recall seeing so far is £277 on Amazon, although that is from a Marketplace seller... their price is about £295 and Expansys are selling it for £299 at the moment.
