****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

As far as I'm aware google syncs them :)

good to know, thanks!

Lots of nice tweaks in PA although I'm not sure if they're JB improvements or the ROM itself. Holding volume keys skips tracks (at last!!), power button can be used to operate the camera shutter and a few other bits and bobs.

Hey guys, Apex has decided to stop working. Every time I select it it hangs, then screen goes blank, then it says 'Unfortunately Apex Launcher has stopped. 'Report' - 'OK'

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still the same. Rebooted the phone and powered down the phone, still the same. I also cleared data. Any ideas how to fix it?

Oh, it's working now. I installed it via the phone earlier and it didn't work properly, Just installed via my PC and it's ok. Lost all my settings though, gotta redo it. :(

Well, guys... tomorrow I am going back to the SGS II after breaking my SGS III. To be honest, I prefer the SGS II in almost every way. I found the SGSIII too big in the hand and pocket, whereas my old SGSII was just so perfectly sized. Battery life is a wee bit worse, but custom ROMs can help with that.

So anyway...

Which ROM is now the uber-ROM? I ideally want one based on Jelly Bean (if it's stable) and so far of interest (ie: big threads tons of posts, usually a sign of a major ROM) I have seen on XDA:

Resurrection Remix JB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854&page=1372

Omega v6.0 JB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290468

I used Omega for SGSIII but no idea if it's as good on the SGSII or not as i'm out of the loop a little. I want something fast with no features missing, and am not averse to going ICS if it's in a batter state right now. Any tips please? :)

I've not used the JB version of Ressurection Remix but the ICS version is awesome! I have been tempted to upgrade to the JB version for ages but couldn't bring myself to do it quite yet. I guess this post isn't overly helpful but RR is awesome!

I'm on Paranoid Android now, and currently very happy with it.

I think this goes for most CM10 ROMs, but the battery while the screen on is pretty poor, while the battery with the screen off is epic (even with the standard battery I lose a whopping 2% of battery overnight).

Other than that, I think it's just the FM Radio which doesn't work, not that many will use that.

Been using Paranoid Android since the very first release. By far my favourite ROM.

Good news the mem leak has been fixed on a build released in the CM10 thread, Hopefully that'll be built into the next PA :D

another vote for paranoid, its stable, JB/cm10 based, about as good as it gets for battery life (with siyah kernel), has the ability to set dpi per-app and all that good stuff and it isn't shipped with some rubbish theme. My favourite for a while now.

If you want something different, take a look at miui. cMiui is great on the S2. I dont care much for the home screen setup (I'd use Apex or Nova anyway) but I love the rest it, the UI and built in call-blocking ect

This one looks really interesting.... especially the latest Jelly Bean releases.

Apart from the Home Screen, which you say you aren't keen on, are there any other pros and cons?

Are there any other users on here, who have also put it through its paces, and if so what do you think of it?
