****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Well my O2 order has updated on the website from 'In Process' to 'Complete', and I'm also able to go into the Tariff Management bit and remove the data bolt-on, although I haven't actually tried yet.

I know the quidco money should be fine if I remove it, but is it worth the risk...

Edit: Just tried to remove it and it's pending, will be done on 02nd May apparently.

Not smart to alter the contract with quidco pending

Yeah those were my initial thoughts but quidco only specified a 18/24m contract, nothing about a minimum cost or data so I'll argue for it if need be.

I'm sure others have already seem on hotukdeals but I'll post it here just to make sure.

300 mins & unlim. texts, 500mb - £15p/m, £180 total
Quidco, -£115
Total: £65, or £5.42p/m.

I'll no longer be needing my giffgaff sim!

Quick question, unless im missing something theres 4 versions of the GS2:
Tegra 16Gb
Tegra 32Gb
Normal 16Gb
Normal 32Gb

Yet rarely do phone sites actually list which version they are selling...?

my mate from o2 rang me and he said it should have been a option on the site when choosing what you want but because it wasnt then you probably cant remove it, tho if ou have the option in your account then by all means go for it. my account cant even find my order lol

oh by the way my o2 has started o track the 90quid and a further 1.60 for the accessory i think, but i thought it was 100quid cashback with accessory....meh just glad its tracking. that vodafone deal sounds alright, wonder what reception is like around our ends tho

Well it seemed to let me do it just fine, had an email to confirm it'll be removed on 02nd May so fingers crossed!

The quidco tracking has done the same for me but it usually tracks stuff at £0.01 so at least this is nearly accurate, it always seems to be right in the end.

Picked one up from P4U yesterday, bloke gave me a free 8gb SanDisk card for it too. Loving it so far! Still getting used to the keyboard (Space bar is close to the full stop) and I still havent found a way how to capitalise I's in sentences. Brilliant phone though

I downloaded 'Smart Keyboard Pro' for a small fee with the Samsung skin enabled.

Its amazing. Its accuracy and text correction work 99.99% of the time and it is just as good as the keyboard on IOS.

Tegra 2 is the cheaper/slower version destined for the Asian market. Why anyone want that over the new Exynos SoC is beyond me

Evidence suggests otherwise;)
NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 is nearly equivalent in CPU performance, and better in GPU and Flash performance (see the benchmarks posted by AnandTech yesterday), so it is a pretty good alternative to the Exynos SoC.

Benchmarks here & here also show the Tegra to be faster.

The S2 in those benchmarks is only at 1Ghz.

Flash is better on this phone than on the Optimus X2 as a user experience but that may have been down too LG.

Those only seem to be for the 1ghz Exynos though, not 1.2ghz... I've tried looking for a comparison of the 1.2 but not had any luck yet.

Edit: Taken from this blog, the guy got Productivity Index: 3745 and Games Index: 2339 in Smartbench 2011, so when compared to the scores here it looks up up there with the Tegra 2 for the Games Index but destroys it on the Productivity Index.

The point that those benchmarks make is that the CPU on Tegra is slightly behind, but the GPU is quite far ahead.
So even at 1.2Ghz, the GPU will still be slower.

In all fairness, with the games landscape on Android atm, it makes no difference.

Actually that doesn't seem to be the case, as it's scoring only marginally behind the very highest performing Tegra 2 chip in graphics but way ahead in performance.

I suppose as they're working off of the same chip it would make sense that the performance of both would increase after a 0.2ghz boost.
