***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Received my voda micro aim along with my s3 today - activated by the time I'd finished setting the phone up. Must say I'm blown away with vodas data speeds. When comparing to t-mobile its like switching from 56k to adsl
:D
anyway hope yours gets activated soon mate

Going to give them a ring tomorrow, I have a feeling it's activated as I've been able to send 1 or 2 texts, I just think the signal is appalling (it usually isn't, I have my old blackberry sat next to me also, manages to get 3 bars easily on Voda), very strange.

May try and blag a free Sure Signal box :D

One thing I've forgot to check when setting up a renewal with T-Mobile was the inclusion of a micro sim card. Would I be naive to assume that T-Mobile would know to ship a micro sim with the phone?

When I was on the phone to T-Mobile, I asked about the Micro Sim as I am coming from a Desire and they said that this is automatically sent with the phone and can be activated when you get it.

My initial thoughts:

Lovely screen and area better than Galaxy Nexus.

Very smooth.

Camera/Video does look good.

Body has the same plastic smooth feel as the Nexus S. Does not feel as nice as the textured finish on the GN. The GN does feel more solid.

The white finish is a joy to see and dare one say refreshing to look at.

The home button is a pain as I’m used to a soft button (last two Nexus phones). This must be a Samsung thing and it's about time they moved on.

GPS is very fast and I now see at least 30% more satellites than before.

The most annoying thing is that new apps are not displayed in alphabetical order on the app screens. (I might be missing something here). It’s the same old **** we had on the original Tab. You would have thought this would have been sorted out by now.

I do like it.

Time to discover all the ins and outs of the software. I'll be back.

You know that blue is the way to go.

OcUK's forum colour is blue. That tells you everything that needs to be known :)

How bad is the light bleed on the white one, can you describe it in a bit more detail or get a picture of it if possible (with your photography skills it's probably possible)?

It's a shame about that but it seems many white phones of all brands suffer the same issue with that :/

Also, regarding the 64GB SDXC UHS-I card, seems the Amazon price has gone up by over £10 in 24hours. I cancelled my Play order and bought last night through Amazon at £43 inc free del and this morning it's at £53.75!

Robbo, I'll take a picture this afternoon.

I'll probably go again and look at some demo units.

simulatorman, hows the LED notification? Is it visible ?

Someone said its not near as visible as the blue one is

The LED on the white is visible clearly but as mentioned, there is bleed around the notification and button lights, Even in normal indoors lighting it's visible.
