***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Is the S3 more fragile than the S2? From what I recall, iphones would shatter if dropped while the S2 if dropped would be more resilient. According to this iphone 4 v S3 drop test, things are different.

The s3 may be built a more fragile because the s2 has a metal bezel surrounding the screen edge itself whereas the s3 doesn't so all the force is taken by the screen through the thin bezel I'd guess.

That said though, drop tests are luck of the draw as mentioned!

Do Three network share to improve the coverage?

Some people are quoting great speeds on three. I have just moved to 3 from tmobile and i get less than 1000kbps download wheras i was getting 3500kpbs on tmobile.

My connection symbol is constnatly changing from 3g to h to h+ without me moving so am not sure if thats something to do with it. Could be a dodgy handset. Gonna go test it at work today again and if its the same there i will be taking it in tomorrow and reporting that along with the ink spot issue.

Here is another example pic, a lot like what i see on my s3 with the lines and dots.

I have that on my ps vita screen!!

Thanks for the replies, the alternative is to stay with orange but they don't offer a lot of data a month. What sort of data speeds are people getting on orange ?

I thought the point of OLED is that when a pixel needs to be black, it can simply turn itself off? That just looks like it's being dimmed?

Well I've joined the white s3 club. So what are the essential changes in settings people are making?

Turning off the back and menu lights.
Ring ring ringtone
Turn off touch/lock/keytone sounds
display battery percentage
Power saving on (don't know if it makes a difference?)
Disable all the rubbish built in apps that you don't need.

I have a work blackberry on O2 and an Android on 3. The 3 phone really does have, the best data and I use it too tether to my work laptop more than I user the O2 3g dongle supplied by work.

however I would never want to rely on only a 3 phone to make calls. I work away from home 5 days a week on sites all over the country.

Ps iirc if you turn the data off it falls to orange 2g Net work which can help sometimes.

It seems that the Pebble Blue version is filtering through. I just visited the Samsung store which is above the P4U store in Oxford Street. They had sim free stock and when I asked a member of staff how much it was he said £599! I just laughed and walked out. No doubt other stores will have it in stock at at a reasonable price after the Jubilee break.

My Pebble Blue pre-order from O2 has shipped and should be with me Wednesday so the text message from O2 says....

I pre-ordered on the 4th May btw...
