***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I love and hate this thread now, seeing all you lucky folks get yours and I have to wait until I 1) convince the wife and 2) at least the 11th when it'll be released in Brazil....

I think you're missing a huge fruit contender there. :p

I don't like apple/IOS!!!! :p

Plus they are going to have to do something extremely different/unique this time round in order to impress everyone (well apart from the apple fanboys :p) and the device needs to have a screen size of at least 4".

If they just keep the same design and roughly same screen size and just with better internal hardware (matching the GS 3) and keep IOS looking the same overall with hardly any ground breaking software then IMO this could be the beginning of the end for apple :p

What about the Hayabusa?

I suppose.........

:p

Sony phones are good in terms of hardware and the software is pretty decent, however, the main thing is their support for updating android devices to the latest version, it is amazing now.

But there is still just something I don't like about them, can't put my finger on what it is though :p :o

But yeah, it certainly is the phone to watch out for going by all the leaks, photo samples etc.!

I've still got my blue order with them, don't really want to pay any more elsewhere and I'm not in that much of a rush to get it. Hopefully they'll start shipping them soon though.

Common sense should tell you that won't be what will happen. It will be a 4" device and hopefully a far better overall product than the X and S3 have been, neither are perfect.

The changes to the software are going to be important though, not that you'd buy it anyway! In fairness to the software, it's hardly lacking anything important, just niche features really.

The iPhone 5 will more than likely just have a slightly taller screen to not affect the current ecosystem too much.

As much as I like the iPhone, I find its just too small after using 4"+ devices.

Tbh I think the iphone 4 inst perfect either !

I called up CPW again and the guy laughed at me saying none of their branches had the blue SGS3. So I mentioned that Cyclone picked his up from Harlow, and the guy said Cyclone must be lying

Im special :)

I pre-ordered a few weeks ago and picked it up today. Im off to work in an hour or so but will chuck a few pics up when I get home.

Yup, with most companies, it is pretty much guaranteed everything will be improved upon by a good bit especially for android devices, however, with apple nothing is certain regarding this!

The software still looks the same pretty since pretty much the 3G release!!! :p

They have only really polished it up a bit and added features, not actually really given the UI a makeover like ICS and for me it is just incredibly boring to look at and use, no idea how people have owned and used only apple devices their entire life.........

Would also like to see a completely different design as opposed to just a rectangle slab again, but by the looks of things, it looks more or less the same again.......

No device is ever perfect! Guaranteed there will always be something wrong :p

That last part is true, unless apple have a complete makeover :D

I think there is a lot of areas, which they could improve upon, but then that would be too much freedom for their customers and taking a risk :p

Very interested to see what they do with the software though. However, I honestly can't see them doing anything ground breaking or unique again.

Will copy a few features from ICS, polish them up a bit, make them out like there brand new features and that apple thought of first in their advertising, apple fans will go "WOW, awesome, apple rules", apple will then sue all android manufacturers particularly Samsung for copying their idea and then try to patent that feature :p

How are you going to convince her?
you know the normal buttering up one has to do with the wife to be allowed new toys sometimes....:D
although she needs a new phone as well, so trying to push and S3 for me, maybe her as well, or and S2/nexus for her.

Out here they cost a months salary, so it's not easy to rush out and by a new phone

Id get it replaced unless you caused the crack yourself. But whether or not its free, id still get it replaced as if in the future you want to sell it, you will lose some value on it.

Should never accept a damaged item even if its free...

Are you for real?

That would drive me INSANE.

Sounds curious, how was it free?

I won it on Samsung's Twitter competition, however it was another company who organised it so they probably only had a few of them to start with.

The way I see it is that I'm not paying a penny for it, so is a tiny crack really such a big deal? :p

The SDXC UHS 64GB card doesn't work in the S2 either, it doesn't even show up under Settings > Storage but at the same time shows not notification bar icon for an SD card error so it is recognised, just doesn't show up as a storage card.

Does it really not work in the S2? Did you format it to FAT32?

Can't format it as my card reader can't read it hence the new reader purchase.

I imagine the s2 should read it once formatted to fat32 though but I have no way of doing this until my new reader arrives!

Edit *
I'll try seeing if an Acer laptop I have kicking around reads UHS cards, it's only a year old.

Well yes for me personally it would bother me untold but im a guy who buys his phones then sells them when newer models come out. I dont keep any of my old phones barring an old 9000 Blackberry Bold which i keep as a back up if any of my latest BB's need to go off for repair.

But like i said if your not bothered by it then fair enough...for me knowing its there would annoy me untold case or no case.
