***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I can see my original post/question getting buried and never answered, as RazrLite said of his, so I will try to be more succinct.

1. Will a S3 from Germany be identical to one here?
(aside from maybe changing the language)

2. Does a Vodafone (UK or prefereably German) 32gb S3 have any branding, apps, etc.
Basically any reference to vodafone on the device at all?

Any advice would be fantastic, or maybe a suggestion for somewhere better suited to my question if not here.

I know how you feel - people are getting theirs now via vodafone, but I still haven't heard anything yet, the level of joy in this thread is making me jealous

The oil coating is the glaze, it's on all handsets on all colours afaik, viewable at ~ 30 degrees incident to the handset - you need pretty good lighting to see, rock the handset back and forth and you can usually see it. It's less noticable on the white to me.

I feel a little better now. I did have to angle the cover some what to see the oily effect
 
Will be interesting to see if the Samsung own brand flip covers will be identical to the current S3 backplates or if they will be different.
ie pebble blue vs metalic blue or maybe difference in hyperglazing etc.

I too got bored of Play.com but found a site called UR-mobile.com who had very limited stock left for £499.

Just had a phone call from the nice chap there and said they had 10 in this morning and i was the 2nd to last person to order one and got one just in time.Its being dispatched today for delivery on Monday! :D

I'm still waiting for my Amazon order damn it :(

And I'm happy to hear about people getting what looks like the new paint job though! Still, Samsung should have made it black!

1. Not sure, probably.

2. Definitely. If you buy it from Vodafone directly, it WILL have branding.
 
Just to confirm - Three handset is unbranded (so far as I can tell) and unlocked - tested with Orange and Vodafone cards....... both full size and cut down with scissors :D

Was thinking at work that a month ago when this phone was launched, most people were saying how bad the phone was. Now everyone wants one :)
