***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Weird, I received a notification earlier to say I had a 22MB update. Went to apply it but after restarting, because it's rooted, it loaded up in CWM and said update failed or something. Now if I go and check for the update, it's says no update available.

It says my build is I9300XXALE8.

What's the general method for updating your handset when it's rooted btw? You won't lose any data right because I cba to set it all up again!

Same happened here, my wifes s3 is also rooted.

Use KIES or download the firmware from Here and flash with Odin. For OTA you need the stock recovery so it won't work with phones with CWM

If I flash that LF2 update with ODIN, that involves wiping my data, partition and cache. I guess that means having to restore everything again?

I've got Titanium Backup Pro installed. Is there an easy one press 'backup all' feature?

You can use your pcs internet connection on your phone if you have a HTC, I believe it is called internet pass through. This seems to be HTC specific as I haven't found another app for it. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to do this... I know it's possible with the android sdk but I don't want to install that....

It won't wipe the phone. Backup anyway just in case and yes on TB just press the Icon on the top right of the screen with the sticky and it will give you the batch operation senarios for oneclick backup/restore.

Just updated to LF2 with one here using Mobile ODIN, painless and fast. Non wipe firmware, had to reinstall CF-Root 6.2, busybox and the HD camera mod. Took about 5mins.

Cheers. Backing up all onto my SD card now. Wasn't sure if it wipes the phone or not as the instructions given here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610 say 'Wipe Data/Factory reset and Wipe Cache'.

Ah, never mind. I think I just skip those recovery steps, and go straight into Download mode so I can flash with ODIN?

What are they like as a company ? http://www.ur-mobile.com

seeing as i had trouble with expansys i'm very untrusting @ the moment :p

I've ordered and phoned them and they seem good. Appear to be a small company but were friendly, answered all my questions and are shipping me one for tomorrow so who can complain.

I'd order and phone up and check you've been allocated one which is what I did.

Other people in this thread have received phones off them so doubt they will run off with our money.

Meh, just ignore all of that malarkey. That kid is just copying and pasting from Samfirmware.

Quick question lads..

My battery hasn't been up to a good standard since getting my phone (release date), to give you an idea, it goes down atleast 2% from when I take my charger out to about an hour later..

This is without applications running (accept the odd background process), this can't be right? Any ideas? Faulty battery that came with the phone? Would ordering a new separate battery from Amazon sort it out, or is it likely to be the phone?
