***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Jubei have you tried letting it flatten down to zero and then charge completely to full? I'm guessing the battery calibration might be out, this would reset it.

I'm thinking of getting an S3. I've had my HTC Desire from launch date and it's showing its age. Is it worth getting an S3 now or is there a better phone coming out on the horizon. I'm going to get it with three for £31 a month on the One Plan. I was thinking of getting an HTC One X but it doesn't have an microSD slot but it has the nVidia Tegra 3 chip... which one should I go for!?

There is always bigger and better the horizon it just depends what you want now and what in the market or if you would like to wait for the latest & greatest

Mart

p.s. I've just got the S3 after dropping an iPhone 4s .... Not put it down in 3 days :D

The Note 2 would be worth waiting for if you can handle the size.

Anyone played some intense 3D games on the S3? How does it cope? That NOVA game looks really good for 69p but I read it's optimised for Tegra 3 phones

I've played a Tegra 3 only game on my S3 with the Tegra 3 graphics enabled and it held up great. All games on the S3 are extremely smooth unless there is an issue.

S3 it is then, better screen and battery. Plus and SD card slot win it for me.

You will have to be rooted to get the Tegra 3 graphics and it only works on one game as far as I know. However there aren't many Tegra 3 games. But it runs any game you can get extremely well.

Yep will root my three branded S3 but won't be using any third party ROMs just yet. Tried loads of ROMs on my HTC Desire and their all buggy/unstable

You'll get a surprise there to then, there are lots of S3 ROMs that run extremely smooth. Seems to be lots of talented people working with the S3.

You're using the wrong ROMs then! There's lots of ICS based ROMs for the S3 that are rock stable.
Even the JB ones aren't doing too badly since all these leaks appeared.

I've used both Omega and Wanamlite as daily users on my phone and they've both been bang on.
I'm using Wanam v2.2 at the moment and won't be changing till v3 based on the offical JB FW comes out.

like wise but thought omega installer was too confusing, although very custom if your into that.

prefer Wanamlite 2.3 ICS, awesome battery, stable as hell

Hi

Can anyone help me on how to change the background wallpapers on my phone?

I've tried a few from the internet and even an app but they all seem to display blurry.

I dont want bother with a scrolling background just something that is hd quality

has anyone got some good sites to check out?

thanks:)

The height resolution on the image needs to be high. I've found that a height of around 1400-1600px is ideal. Width doesn't matter provided its around 800px or more wide. My current background is 1000px wide by 1618px high and looks nice and clear. Once you've copied what you like onto the card or the phone, open gallery and go to the image then the menu button, set picture as, then tap your choice. Crop to size, (the more you crop, the higher the resolution will need to be) and tap done.

Got my wallpapers from here, which seems to be a huge collection of game artwork.
