***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Really struggling here guys.

I own a macbook air and do everything off it. I also have an S3 with MIUI on it.

Now on my s2 all I used to do was connect via usb, mount the device and wahey, I see my S2 internal and external drive and do whatever I want.

This S3 has me stumped. I can't mount it properly.

In MTP mode nothing happens, in PTP mode the imagine importer whatever in mac automatically opens.

I tried using android file transfer but all that does is just say no android device found, in both ptp and mtp mode.

Now I tried to install Kies, bit it wouldn't work as I'm running mac 10.8.1, found a way around this but when I connect my S3 it just says connecting, tried installing the drivers which it did, but still just says connecting.

Wtf is going on here?

I could get USB transfer to work either on Lion. I gave up in the end and just used AirDroid.

Lol wow

Just installed dropbox on the s3, logged in and earned 48gb of additional space
I'm now just under 56gb of db space

Happy days :D

Thanks for replies on 3G and H, ive been on H all the time so that's a good thing.

I've jumped from 5 years of apple and tbh I'm loving what I see. Really wanted IP5, but with no real leap in change and same boring ui and apple having suck me in for the last 5 years android is a very refreshing change.

You will miss some of the iOS apps if you used plenty of them, but what you gain is tons of freedom.

Even simple tasks like dragging and dropping files onto the phone, to take to a friends house or whatever make a big difference.

When I had the iPhone 4, the lack of real multitasking was a constant annoyance and iTunes. Don't even get me started on that. lol

Welcome to the good guys side. :D

When is official JBrelease
How easy is it to root.? I remember rooting my google G1 back in the pre apple days and it was a right long winded process with the chance of bricking too
Has it got any easier and safer?
