The new sms thread thing is a problem with Samsung firmware. There were reports of it on Wanam too.

@Kainz, the grey symbols suggest you're not connecting to google services. Can you browse the internet ok? Maybe try removing your account from the phone and re-syncing it again.

As for 10.1, I've been using temasek's build since 24/12 and it's been awesome. Using his custom kernel is giving great battery life too :)
 
My S3 seems to be having a problem doing its latest update, it says it will restart, get a little install bar that gets to around 26% and then the little android man changes to a dead android with a warning symbol above. The phone starts up again as normal but then in a day or two it will tell me there is a software update still... can I fix this? Is it fubarred?

Im sure it was on Wanam, but its definately on crDroid.

This is confusing me. I pm'ed the developer of crDroid and he says he hasnt got it and never included it and he thinks I installed a mod. I did a full wipe, installed his rom and installed JB Domination with Jkay - thats it. :confused:

Zack101 has it on his wanam, does anyone else on 4.1.2 have the ink effect???

I cant see how a few people have it. :confused::confused:

I have just flashed Sotmax Ultimate v12 and it has it.

I'm on Wanamlite 5.2 with JB domination and Jkay mods, so might be in with the Jkay mods?

I couldn't browse the net no. Everytime both symbols went grey I couldn't get any data throughput. Google services connection was fine too. I did flash a new modem to it last night before heading out and I did notice that it was fine after that. Even this morning it is holding onto the wifi signal nicely. I had no idea about other CM builds though or I'd have tried those...

I am using Paranoid Android 2.54 atm (JB 4.12) and things are going really well. The hybrid DPI mode that it features is amazing and certain apps hugely benefit from lower DPI's like Gmail (clicky). Battery life seems better than what I was getting with CM10 too. I am spoilt by this rom.

Yeah I was running Paranoid for a while, thought it was great. Although I think I switched to a different CM10 build because I think the dev stopped working on it. And 10.1 is getting a lot of attention now too :)

I've also been using it for the last day or so. Just to keep EniGmA1981 happy ;)


So far I'm very impressed. Seems more responsive than WanamLite and the extra options in the Aroma installer are very welcome.

Highly recommended.

I have just flashed Sotmax - I am not really much of a phone power-user at the moment, however I am using it more and more now that I am actually in work, so it was time to get back into having a decent ROM. I sure do miss Oxygen from the Desire though, it was everything I ever wanted but I am hoping Sotmax will be a great replacement.

I look on AdamG's website now and then, there was rumors he was going to make an Oxygen rom for the S3.

My old Desire still has it, gave it to my missus :p

edit: Seems his page has gone now. Maybe he wont be then :p

In a similar tradition though, Temaseks custom CyanogenMod builds are much like AdamG's were. Built from source with a few CM cherry picks. Worth checking out :)
 
I've been out of touch again for a while!

I've got the SIII but it already came rooted with MIUI v9 which is pretty ancient.

Anyway moving on quickly, whats the best rom to put on it, I prefer smoothness and good battery life. Also is this premium suite stuff on those roms now?

And was that whole external micro sd card being useless as it was never seen so you couldn't fill it with whatever ever sorted out by Samsung?
