Not yet, I'm waiting until Monday but they did say someone would confirm details in the new year!

It should be sooner than later then! Are you going to sell the S3 when you get it back?
After using the Note II for a while even the S3 will feel like you were using the S3 mini!
 
Whether they send it back repaired or not it's getting sold (if no repairable then recycled to Mazuma etc!).

And yeah, S3 feels small now :p Most friends now have the S3!
 
Hey all,

I am thinking about getting rid of my s3 but haven't sold a phone before. Can I sell them on the ocuk market place? Of not where else else (I'm not very keen on using ebay!)

Also, what are they worth nowadays? It's a white 16gb model in excellent condition.

Benjo, would you have a link to these builds by any chance please mate? I'd like to bookmark it just incase I do move back to CM from PA. The latter hasn't been updated since November iirc.

I really like the Note II, wish my hands were big enough to use it! :p

I'm really glad that the S3 has caught on and everyone is buying one it's a superb phone and I hope Samsung push the innovation further with the S4 and Note 3. however I wish Samsung would come out and say something about this sudden death problem.
 
I got a reply from the email I sent them, they're sticking by what the 1st repair centre said, about water damage = No warranty repair :/

Not had word from 2nd repair centre yet though.

That's utter crap...we all know how much care you take with your phones. It seems that this is the route that certain repair centres are taking with consumers as other people have complained of the same issue on XDA even though they've been extra careful with their phones.

Samsung treat their customers like rubbish sometimes and it isn't fair. I hope this sudden death problem makes the papers and they get some bad press.

I hope the 2nd repair centre come good and repair it for you.

Usually get nightly releases when a fix/useful feature is merged or when he adds his own tweaks. I recommend using his kernel too, based on the CM kernel with a few changes, gives me excellent battery.
 
You're a star thanks. PA rebooted twice today whilst the phone was sat at my desk, and just rebooted moments ago too, which is odd. I'll check the link out tomorrow morning.

Edit: Bugger. Used a CM10 custom boot anim and now it takes ages to boot. The rom itself seems good with that kernel though...when I can get into the OS.

What's the best firmware code for the stock 4.1.2 firmare for the S3?

Currently downloading I9300XXELLA_I9300OXAELLA_BTU

However there are a few options - I just want the bog standard non network specific one.

That's the non branded firmware you've got the right one
