***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

The Roms that are being mentioned are crDroid, Sotmax and Wanamlite.

Im on crDroid and cant fault it myself. Nice and smooth for me.

*edit* new firmware released, I9300XXELLA - BTU, so new roms will be out soon.

My S3 seems to be having a problem doing its latest update, it says it will restart, get a little install bar that gets to around 26% and then the little android man changes to a dead android with a warning symbol above. The phone starts up again as normal but then in a day or two it will tell me there is a software update still... can I fix this? Is it fubarred?

As in legit update? If so, assuming you're not out of memory (leave at least a gig free) you will probably need to contact Samsung. Got more details? Network ROM or standard, rooted or not etc...?
And was that whole external micro sd card being useless as it was never seen so you couldn't fill it with whatever ever sorted out by Samsung?
I honestly don't know what you're referring to but if it's Androids ability to only see one mount as "external" and this being the internal memory for all phones that have some - then this is Androids problem, not Samsungs.

21.38MB OTA just arrived:

I’m assuming it’s for the Exynos 4 vulnerability reported a few weeks ago.

TPIUWOP ;)

In seriousness though, we need a picture so we can all mourn with you :(

My other half got a scratch on her screen the day before our screen protectors came in the post - no idea how it happened, I think it was the ghost of her old i5700 seeking revenge on it's replacement lol

I highly doubt it's a Firmware problem? So many different roms from 4.0 to 4.2 were running on the devices that have died.

+1 I agree, why on earth would Samsung change the motherboards of the devices that died and then come out and say it's a software thing and not related to hardware?

2nd repair centre has not sent my S3 back yet!

Have you checked what's going on Robbie? Maybe during the Christmas and New Year break it might just take a little bit longer.

Apparently it's been taking at least 13 days for people to get their S3's back.

I have my s3 locked to Orange and ever time i put my orange sim in it says not registered on network, but the same sim works fine in my S2.

Any ideas?

Thanks
