Perfect - thanks mate

The sudden death is apparently going to be fixed by a firmware upgrade:

So its a software issue then?..i thought it was a hardware problem???...if so then fat lot a software update will do lol![]()
What's the best firmware code for the stock 4.1.2 firmare for the S3?
Currently downloading I9300XXELLA_I9300OXAELLA_BTU
However there are a few options - I just want the bog standard non network specific one.
To be honest I would take everything that Sammobile with a pinch of salt as they've reported on stuff before and most of the time they've been wildly off the mark, their track record isn't really great.
I'd wait on Samsung to say something official on the matter (if they can be bothered to)
It doesn't make sense that people's motherboards are being fried and it's all down to firmware?
The only thing I can think off is that there's a bug in the firmware that constantly writes to the NAND and eventually burns it out.
The whole thing is strange...but if Samsung have sorted out the problem with a firmware fix then good for them
Yep. Although I'd personally use Mobile Odin. Roots the firmware during the flash
That's if you plan to root..
Obvious next question, what is the easiest way to root?
Just install the apk in this thread. Works on top of an exploit which your device has anyway.
