***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

There also seems to be some enhancements in the Android OS update I've got. Gallery looks different and there is a "pullable" tab on the left hand side.

Not had a chance to explore anything else yet.

I'm parting company with my S3, perhaps for a Note 2 or possibly one of these 1080p 5" phones so it's time to reset and recycle.

Could someone kindly give me the filename of the latest stock unbranded UK ROM because they make absolutely no sense to me at all and I don't want to wind up flashing a locked russian ROM lol :)

I presume it's basically a flash of that via Odin and a flash counter reset using something like triangle away that gets it back to totally 100% stock?

ok cool so that will put me back on a stock recovery too? (on CWM non touch right now) and then it's just triangle away to reset the flash counter and we're golden yeah?

slightly stressful moment there, used triangle away to reset the counter then reflashed with odin to the latest firmware and it got stuck in a boot loop :(

got back into recovery and did a cache/data wipe and its booted up fine :)

thanks all!

That's normal by all accounts. happened to me when i did a reset.

So who here has installed the new XELLA firmware, WITH the new bootloader? What are you doing about the red exclamation mark and flash counter that comes with it if you're running custom recovery/kernel.

I'd like to update to the new bootloaded/firmware, but if it means that the flash counter is permanently going back to 1 and voiding my warranty then that's putting me off a bit. It seems the only way around this is to keep a stock recovery/kernel, and install updates via mobile odin?

Just wondering what all you guys have done, as I've not had much time to read around this at the moment.

Giving yank kernel a try, as it supports CM10.1. It's all done through Aroma and it had the option to boost the speaker and headset volume for those of you that thought it was too quiet :)

Where is the option to share your media in the Cyanongen gallery to your TV?

It is there in on a stick ROM but not in the Cyanogen ROM I am using.

Had confirmation back from the Service Centre about the repair of my S3, I was told it was a 'level 3' repair, and the main board had to be replaced.
It's now been repaired and was out for delivery to me today (via DX - ugh!).
Now to get it sold, I was hoping for a new chassis into the bargain, but it sounds like that's not happened, so I'll likely get a 'B' grade from CEX for it.
Annoyingly it was £207 cash for a B when the phone originally died (the day before my Nexus 4 arrived), now it's £177, so that little failure has cost me £30 :(

Anybody else get the "Storage space running out" notification, only to find that you have multiple GBs free? I would screenshot the storage settings screen but apparently "Device storage is full delete some items."

The storage settings show:

Total Space:11.25GB
Apps: 391MB
Pics, videos: 35MB
Audio: 20KB
Misc: 99.22MB

The colour bar along the top shows it at 90% grey (I assume thats means unused space) so why is it telling me I have no space!?

This happened once before and I could only get round it by wiping the device.

An update on my S3 dis-repair situation.

I got it back from the 2nd repair centre today and here's the note that came with it:

No mention of water damage or anything of the sort. They found a fault and repaired it. This makes me wonder what the Birmingham repair centre were on about and I advise anyone to keep their handsets away from being repaired by that centre because they're incompetent and will feed you lies.

I'm now happy, I can sell this S3 fully working and updated :)
