***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

hi

I'm not sure what's wrong but my S3 battery life has got very poor , I have to charge it every morning and this morning it had turned off after running out over night.

my phone only gets light use , I do have gps and wifi turned on all the time but it was fine a few weeks back like this.

Not sure if the latest update has done something?

Anyone else find this.

cheers

Download BetterBatteryStats and leave it overnight then check it to see what's causing the battery drain - should show that something is keeping the phone awake (wakelock) and thus draining the battery

El1te - can I suggest sotmax ROM instead of wanamlite?

v14 at the moment is still on XXELLA but there's a new version in the pipeline that'll be updated to XXEMA2

I've found it MUCH smoother and more responsive than wanamlite and the battery life (combined with the yank555 kernel (packaged with the ROM) is brilliant!

I know benchmarks mean nothing in the real world, but I got 17500+ with AnTuTu and 6800+ with Quadrant on sotmax and only ~1500/5400 on wanamlite - the figures are significantly different and I DO feel the difference between the two ROMs

Give it a try, the worst that'll happen is that you'll like it ;)

(It's also fully compatible with JKay framework and JBDomination if you should want them both :))

Many thanks , will try that. I did also just force stop Samsung Apps , Samsung push service , Samsung backup and Samsung cloud data relay. Which was suggested on some other forum.

Hi

I installed better battery stats app on my s3 , It looks rather complicated to use with all the different settings.

Would someone mind telling me exactly what I must do overnight when I'm not using my phone to check what is causing battery drain?

many thanks

Cheers for the recommendation mate. I haven't done anything yet still exploring my options so I'll definitely check that out.

Edit: loving the look of 240dpi screens!

I'm a bit unsure as to how to install the JB theme though, some guides state I must have a rom with no theme install yet others dont; could anyone shed some light on this please?

Recent problem... Sometimes, as I go to unlock, the screen remains black, will not unlock and requires a reboot. Anyone else had this? Seems to be a lot about it on the net, but very little in the way of fixes.

You can install a theme over sotmax no problem El1te. someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can install a theme over a theme so you shouldn't have any problems. (You just install it through the recovery boot up, the same as you did with your new rom)

Anyone on sotmax that's removed s-voice? I won't have any probs if i do will I?

Cheers Scozzer.

Now, could someone link me to the latest JB Domination theme that will work with Sotmax? I can't for the life of me find the correct one I need :/

Thanks in advance

waiting for a reply on this, as i can't tell if Domination is compatible with Sotmax. Fancy a change from Wanamlite.

*EDIT*

I might just back up then try out sotmax + Domination 1.6 after dinner tonight. Will let you know if it works.

Hi mate, could you perhaps give me a direct link to JBDomination 1.6 in PM or post it in here if it's allowed?

Thanks in advance
