***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Hi guys big problem here with my S3. Woke up yesterday morning and it had died. Tried switching it on, nothing. Tried 3 different charger cables and adapters, nothing not even the charge screen. Took battery out for 10 mins put it back in still nothing! This thing wont turn on. Tried my flatmates S3 batters in mine, nothing. Any ideas how to fix this? How can a healthy phone literally die overnight?

That is the sudden death problem that a lot have experienced, including myself, all you can do is send it for repair with samsung, or back to the carrier/shop you bought it from and let them deal with it.

Did you update the firmware at all in the last few months, as samsung released a fix to stop it from happening in one of the firmwares, sounds like you were running an older version without the fix.

Sounds like sudden death to me too.
It should not matter what rom you have on it when you send ot back. Lots of people mod it as samsung stock rom is poo!

iv just picked up an s3 in white, installed a few games/apps, nice phone, had it for less than 24 hours and im loving it compared to my old 3gs

Has anyone else had this problem?

My S3 is not charging properly. It gets stuck on a certain percentage (variable) and won't charge anymore. I bought a new battery and a new charger. The new battery didn't help the problem, but the new charger worked for a few days, but now its back to not fully charging. I have a bad feeling I'm going to have to send it back to Vodafone for repair unless its something simple like USB oxidation that just needs the port cleaning out?

Vodaphone are very slow putting out the updates mb5 had an update to the charging sensor and that should sort you out. I had to charge the battery of my house mates phone in a docking station just last week. One full charge and an update and it was fine.

Also, are you running a customer kernel? There's some settings in STweaks that, if changed, will limit the charging capacity of your battery.
