He'll be back he always has a few week hiatus every now and then to be honest. Can't blame him as XDA does have some extremes of characters.

I dropped my phone for the first time around an hour ago and have cracked the screen. It was in otherwise perfect condition :-(

Does anybody have any idea how much a new screen will be? It still works and don't want to buy a new phone till late this year (so I get around 30 months use of 1 phone)

I replaced the the glass part on my screen a while back.

Cost less than around £5 for the glass and tools required in a kit from ebay

Be warned though! It's a very time consuming task and patience is required but it can be done.

The alternative is to remove the enitre screen and digitizer and replace with new but that requires you to remove all the components such as the logic board, sim and sd card tray, aerial, camera etc and transplant it into a new shell. I have also done that too and it was just as time consuming and the replacement part cost near £80

There are also services on ebay to repair the phones for you for about £30-35 which may well be worth a try.

For that sort of price I'm willing to just take it to the local shop and get them to do it instead, it's a lot cheaper than I thought it'd be actually.

Dont do a dirty flash when upgrading to v43 lots of changes have been made. quickest way to upgrade is just to format /System from recovery (that way you keep all your app data safe) then install the ROM and Gapps (always reflash gapps).

I still get issues with the camera but I use it less and less as my actual camera is always available.
 
Finally made the jump from v27.2 to v45 this morning. The reason i stayed so long on v27.2 is that Tapped out crashed on all other versions of the ROM for me. Finally with v45, Tapped out is working.
 
Not getting on well with v45 so far, for me it's only installing with google voice as the input? No Keyboard? I did it with a fresh cop of gapps on top also but no dice.
That and it wouldn't open the playstore properly...

I think my phones just playing up on me...
That and I forgot to back up my apps with Titanium Backup properly previously too :(

Sounds like you need to do a full wipe (using Philz recovery use the install new rom option) make sure you wipe dalvik and cache partitions as well as preload.
