***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

can someone make me a walkthru guide on how to install 4.4 slimkat?

the threads on XDA forum is so confusing. my S3 i9300 is rooted running on stock 4.3. not sure which boot loader iam meant to use and how i install one.

Go on the slimkat web site, they have everything you need there. Good instructions and very easy to follow. I'm completely new to putting on a rom, so if i can do it anybody can. You won't be disappointed with slimkat either, is very slick.

I backed up with titanium, installed cwm and then put the rom and gapps onto my sd card from the computer. Then reboot into recovery.

See my flashing guide (link in my SIG) for the most comprehensive way to flash an i9300 :)

That's a very good guide, it would have saved me some time. I see you have boeffla kernel, does the rom not come with its own kernel? Or is it a better kernel then the one that comes with slimkat?

Slims Kernel is very good but boeffla's increases the speaker volume and gives you more control over power usage and CPU stepping speeds. Not really needed for a casual user.

Ever since I updated Temasek my phone has been taking forever to charge. 5/6 hours = 5%. Never had this issue before updating, any help?

Are you using a custom kernal?

More likely your charger is no longer putting out over 1amp so taking longer to charge.

Yeah. I tried my laptop, several mains plugs and different chargers/wires and nothing. Think the battery might be on it's way out.

My power button keeps sticking which is immensely infuriating!

Apart from tearing the thing apart any ideas on an easy fix?

Why instant death, thought Wd40 was non conductive?

OK my bad, seems it does and it eats plastic so probably the worst thing to use, lol

Pull the battery out and give the power button a good squirt with contact cleaner - let it soak down the side of the button etc

That stuff is great, doesn't leave any residue either :)
