**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S10 Family Thread ****

Aye got it a couple of days ago on my S10e, adds most of the camera features from the Note 10 & kinda screws up Samsung's messages.

Only one of us should be mad, and it's not me who has a case on my S10 which still looks new:p
I never cease to be amazed that people don't use cases or screen protectors on £500+ mobile devices that come in and out of your pocket multiple times per day and so are statistically much more likely to be dropped than pretty much any other device you have. It's literally basic common sense (or so I thought). *shrugs*

Dropped my phone on the ground after a few pints over the weekend

Didn't really care though, as again Spigen took the full brunt and not a sign of a scratch on it :D

It is common sense. You always get a few numpties that slip through the net.

Each to their own (as they say). Makes me wonder though why phone manufacturers continue to release phones with glass front and back. Well front will be glass of course but glass backs make them slippery as a bar of soap. Most owners seem to slap a case on or even a skin to make them less slippery and to protect the phone. Seems to make the glass back somewhat pointless. I'd much prefer to use my phone without a case but dare not as butterfingers me will drop it! How many buy 2 or 3 or more plastic cases then chuck them when moving onto next phone - if not careful you'll have Greta Thunberg banging on your door ;)

Manufacturers don'r care what you do after you buy your phone, they just want it to look as good and feel as premium as possible during the marketing periods and when you try/buy it. The practical concerns of how to protect an expensive electronics device prone to slipping and falling are left to the user to worry about.

I very rarely like cases..

prefer the naked phone and feel of it as designed.

cases add unwanted bulk.

only case I happy to have on my pixel 2 is pitaka "kevlar" but it is very thin and very hard and very expensive :(

They're probably quite happy if you drop it and the back smashes so they can charge you £400 for a repair. And if you pick up a vastly overpriced £50 case at the same time, so much the better.

Most peple prefer the feel of unprotected nookie, but that doesn't make the obvious risks go away. A phone is a pretty damn similar analogy... rubber up and protect it from harm. A thin case hardly adds so much bulk.

the risks are there I am just willing to take them in this case, simply put the point of buying all metal/glass/quality feeling phone is so you can "feel" the quality.. if you then put it in a cheap rubber case that's as thick as your toe it kinda misses the point of all the sacrifices you make.

aka thin body, thin battery, metal builds, price etc.. all those come at a cost..

You are exaggerating the case thicknesses. You can get thin cases, clear cases etc etc. If you want to risk your £500+ phone just for the 'feel' (to which i have to say... wtf) then that's your choice, but please don't try and say all cases are bulky and ugly because that simply isn't true.

I don't think all cases are bulky and ugly but I'm with the other fella when it comes to using a phone without one. I think I paid a flat 10% of the purchase price (maybe 15%) at John Lewis to insure mine for 2 years against accidental damage with no excess. Once you deduct the cost of a decent case and a screen protector, the price difference isn't terrible and I can experience the phone exactly as it was designed.

my first comment to this literally said that there are thin cases that look good, did you bother reading? by thick case I am literally targeting your choice of case, which isn't an 8mm thick case but adds a lot of bulk to already big phone.

Shock horror as different people prefer different things :)
