**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S10 Family Thread ****

Samsung camera still always looks oversaturated and exposed though.

HDR only when needed and scene optimiser is off.

GCam port for exynos with the s10e profile works and looks so much more natural!

My one annoyance with Samsung phones

These are really good, Pixel quality. No post processing applied?

Processing done in Lightroom Mobile or Google Photos. I always shoot to expose for the widest dynamic range so I can level things how I like later just like I do on a DSLR.

For Samsung cam I always leave HDR "On" as opposed to auto, results are always better. Same with Gcam *am using 7.3), HDR+ is set to Enhanced mode full time. Takes longer to take a shot in low light but you get a better DR capture which can then be worked on to how you like it in Lightroom etc.

Same, keep HDR on automatically but scene optimiser mostly off, it's especially bad for oversaturating outdoor scenes and blue skies along with sunset/rise.

Anyone here have the s10 lite and can share some feedback?

I play games heavily and the lite being sd855 and Samsung doing 3yr os updates and monthly security updates has piqued my interest.
Plus it's £400 at the moment in amazon spain

I briefly considered the S10 Lite since it's the only way to get SD855 with warranty etc. on an S10/20 model. I discounted it because I wanted a smaller phone and headphone jack but if you're happy with the size and lack of headphone jack I'd say it's a great choice.

Already had the August update so guessing they will be launching it with a September one.

Speaking of video, anyone use Filmic Pro app? Been thinking about dabbling a little in video work and seems to be one of the most recommended apps, if little confusing for beginners.

I've been using YouCut which is genuinely really good. Not the paid version but the free and there are plenty of manual controls to play with and adjustments.

OneUI 2.5 is now rolling out btw starting with Germany.

Isn't YouCut an editing app and not recording one? While Filmic is pricey, I've enough from my Google Rewards to buy it and don't really need any other apps.

I was thinking of throwing in DJI Osmo Mobile 2 as they can be had for around £50. Figured since I do a lot of hiking in beautiful places around the country, may as well put the phone through its paces and see if I enjoy making videos.

Ah yes you're right, my mind wandered off!

Have you tried the recent changes to Samsung camera for filming? The new OneUI 2.5 enhances video recording in pro mode even further which I'm looking forward to checking out including external mic support etc.

I've noticed that manual video mode has added a few decent features in recent updates so suppose may as well wait for 2.5 update to see if that's good enough to get started.

Picked up a very good condition refurbished S10+ with 1 year warranty for £325. Pretty good value if you ask me.

My Galaxy S8+ that I've had since launch is still going strong but I would like a bit of a performance boost and a better camera and video recording. Hopefully it's worth the upgrade....
