**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S10 Family Thread ****

Really do fancy giving it a go an the same been with original since day one.

People says android message charge sending emoji as they get sent as mms rather than sms?

Also phone slows down quickly if don’t shut apps down?
What year is this? Only owned pixels over the past few years never came across this with them.

Hopefully will continue with my first Samsung S# phone:)

Applied for buds on Saturday, got initial email early Tuesday afternoon, got approval email Tuesday evening saying DX will deliver within 30 days

I use two phones so have an iphone just for the sake of having one. I prefer the s10 + though for all the added features and I prefer the notifications and design of the new ui. And the customization. And the display, and the battery and the multitasking and the lack of notch and the free buds coming and the fast charging in the box.... etc etc etc lol....
Agreed, it blows the iPhone away from a multitasking point, customisations and that display!

In that case, what makes you hold onto the iPhone? I’m in the same boat, I like the polish in iOS and iMessage. But I’m bored of iPhone.

I picked up the S10 Plus and I’ll just use for my limited company.

They’ll never allow even 50% of the customisation of that Android offers. I just want to place icons wherever I want and have the weather displayed on my home page.

I agree. Apple's icon grid has become an iconic feature / look of the phone. Sheer simplicity and apple are notorious for not really known for changing anything dramatically. Time will tell but I think those expecting a radical redesign will be disappointed. I would like to see one as an iPad user but I'm not holding my breath.

I got one at work this week and been playing around with it. It's pretty great but not the wow factor I was expecting going from online reviews/previews.

I have an S8+ as my personal phone and it feels more hefty, solid weight whereas the S10e feels more hollow/light. The perception of quality is greater on the older phones for sure (had the S9/S9+ and S8 too).

The screen is superb though, the cameras too. My gripe with the cam is you cannot choose the wide angle lens if you're using 60fps in any compatible compatible video resolution. This is a major negative for me because I use 60fps all the time because it's so eye pleasing to watch footage back at and share.

Sony's Xperia 1 does not have this limitation IIRC and can record at 21:9 with HDR.

hough.Hough. Fastest scanner I have ever used on any phone ever. The S10e's side fingerprint scanner is so so fast however. Fastest scanner I have ever used. You can just rest your finger or thumb on it for a split second and let go and the screen will instantly unlock. That's dope.

You can do the same split second tap on the S8 and S9 series too, but the screen doesn't wake up as quick as the S10e.

The 5.9" screen is also harder to get used to when typing because the keyboard is quite a bit smaller than on the larger screens I'm typically used to.

Overall quite nice, looks great! Look at this shimmer on the back with the pearl white colour:

Which phone stores actually let you hold the phone? I went into EE a few days ago and they have all their phones locked to units that don't even let you pick them up, there's no way I'm buying a phone without getting a sense of how it feels in the hand.

None, Samsung ambassadors will have them next month though.

Anyone using Bixby Routines? I think I have actually disabled all the bixby packages but was looking into simple things like putting my phone on silent when connected to works wifi. Just done this in Tasker but I dunno, I get the feeling it's going to be a battery drain.

Just noticed I made a mistake on the trade-in section of my order. I selected S7 64GB when it's actually an S7 32GB. I'm hoping it won't matter as the trade in value is the same.
