I did consider that, but then checked out eGlobal mentioned above and they have the S10e SD855 version for £505, which then dropped to £489 when I applied the SMS subscriber coupon. At that price I'm willing to just sell the phone privately down the line in 2 years time, or if the phone recycle sites accept it, then just sell to them.

Or just keep it as a backup phone which I currently don't have! At £489 now it's a bit of a bargain to be honest.

Is the coupon code generic?

A worthwhile sacrifice for the price and 855 soc :p

My network doesn't work with WiFi calling anyway as I don't see it on my UK S8+ at the moment so I won't be missing out!

You've got to have WiFi calling otherwise how can you make vital ( and loud) phone calls on the platforms in the London Underground ?

How are people finding the S10e? I'm considering picking one up, currently have a iPhone XS 64gb and looking to move away from Apple. Some OcUK insight would be great.

Mrs has one, coming from an S6 Edge and she absolutely loves it. Excellent screen, camera and battery seems decent so far. Side mounted finger print reader works well as well.

I have had mine exactly a week now and I am really enjoying it. I am just about getting over the decrease in screen size (coming from OnePlus 6T). I tend to prefer larger screen phones but having said that my Pixel XL and 2XL had 5.5 and 6.0 inch displays respectively so at 5.8 the S10e isn't exactly tiny - although it is in a much smaller package overall.
I definitely prefer the hole punch over any notch - even the small teardrop on 6T. This is because the hole is in the corner well out of the way and especially for videos, if you hold the phone so the hole punch is in the bottom right corner I never notice it whereas a notch is always in the middle of the display.
Camera is very good - MUCH better than the 6T. For detailed shots I would recommend Pro mode as the default mode is quite heavy on the HDR and post processing (depends what sort of shot you're looking for I suppose).
FPS is great, so much quicker than any in display effort I've used.
Unfortunately battery for me is just meh. I actually had to charge it twice yesterday (not fully I'll point out) but then again I was off work yesterday so I was really hammering it. The adaptive battery feature is still learning my usage patterns so I'm hoping it will settle down. I bought a wireless charger that I keep at work so when I'm back in the office it will at least have that to keep it topped up. The cable charging is very quick, not the quickest but very good. Just this morning, according to my accubattery stats, it charged from 14-67% in 34mins which is great. So although more regular top ups will probably be required than on my 6T the top up process is short and sweet.
Finally I think One UI is spot on. I never liked Samsung's software and that was one of the reasons I left after the S6 but it's really improved since then.

Thanks very helpful chaps.

I've never had a Samsung before, is it easy enough to use something like Samsung Pay e.g. a quick button press to launch. My last Android phone was a Google Pixel 2 and I liked how easy it was to launch Google pay and the Assistant. Is it annoying having multiple apps for things like Google Photos and Samsung's version? On my iPhone it's annoying having 2 photo apps, one of which is the default for the camera roll.

Another thing I never liked about Samsungs in the past was the app duplication. First thing I did was uninstall/disable what Samsung apps I was allowed to or I didn't want. For your payment app I still use Google Pay, I uninstalled Samsung Pay straight away. I have nothing against it but like yourself I am used to Google Pay and it does everything I need it to. Any Samsung Apps that can't be uninstalled I shoved into the Samsung folder in the app drawer never to seen or heard of again.
When you first use any duplicate apps, for example Photos/Email/Calendar etc, just set the Google version (if that's your preference) as default and forget the others are even there. So in that regard once you have it set the way you like it won't be too far off a Pixel aside from the general look and feel.

That's good to hear. Are you able to launch Google Pay from the lock screen or do you have to open the app?

I only use it at contactless terminals in a shop and in that regard I just unlock the phone with my fingerprint and the NFC takes care of the rest - no need to load the app at all.

Yea that's what I thought, so you just need to unlock and then wave it on the terminal. I thought Samsung Pay may make it a bit more involved, but sounds like I can uninstall Samsung Pay and just use Google pay with ease.

The one advantage to Samsung Pay is that it can mimic the magnetic strip on your card (don't ask me how!) but what this allows you to do is effectively use contactless even at establishments that don't have contacless terminals. However in my experience any places around me that have card machines have contactless ones so it's a moot point for me anyway.

Good stuff. My Mrs is still on the Pixel 2 (until October) and I can definitely say it's a big upgrade, you'll definitely like it. I went for White myself as my last 3 phones were all black and wanted a change. Didn't fancy the Yellow (not cool enough to pull that one off :p) and Green looked boring.
