**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S10 Family Thread ****

Yeah, missed my buds delivery. DX kinda suck, you can't arrange to arrange a collection at their depot or arrange to delivery to an alternative location. Bit of a pain when you're out between 9 and 5.
Odd, I crossed my fingers DX would give it to a neighbour, they didn't. They dropped me a postcard and an email saying they failed to deliver.
The email had a link which let me redirect it 50miles away for a next day delivery.
Received next day, happy days. They should be decent for the gym

Has anyone else noticed that third party apps (in my case WhatsApp and Snapchat) default to the wide angle lens (on my S10e anyway)? I have read on other forums that on the 10 and 10+ it can default to the telephoto lens.

Both Snapchat and WhatsApp use the normal camera for me. They fill the screen though so are cropped in which is annoying!

I like the look of the S10 range. Currently on an S8plus. Would it feel like a nice change? I always worry things feel a bit too same when upgrading.

I would go for the standard s10 but as I have a plus currently, it may feel odd going down to a smaller size :(

I had the S8+ as well and did wonder about how the size difference between it and the S10e would feel. The difference in performance running OneUI on both S10 and S8+ is noticeable. The S8 is fast and smooth but the S10 is just a league ahead in all areas.

I'm finding one handed use and typing quickly quite a bit more pleasant on the S10e as I'm making fewer errors whilst typing fast. The screen itself is only a bit smaller, not a huge amount due to the S10e's virtually zero bezels top and bottom, just the phone feels a lot smaller in the hand which took a day or so to get used to but now I appreciate the size.

Battery life on the S10e vs S8+ is much better than the S8+. Kinda shows how much more efficient modern SoCs are, and I'd heard the SD855 was better than the Exynos anyway so kind of expected at minimum, an even result in terms of battery life, but I'm seeing better battery life and longer SOTs than expected which was a surprise.

This was day 1 after a day at work, mixture of 4G and WiFi, same apps (133 in total) etc. Adaptive battery has not learnt my usage pattern yet so am expecting up to a full 24 hours with similar SOT.

Well in response to my above (senior moment I'm calling it now) it was just a case of pressing the camera cycle button in WhatsApp :o
At some point I must have pressed it to use the front facing camera and when I reverted to the rear camera I should have pressed it twice to get to the normal sensor!

The S8+ screen is only 0.1" larger than the S10. It will feel smaller simply for the fact that the S10 has a much smaller bezel (10mm shorter I think).

So I took delivery of my discounted Soft Touch case for the S10 from Samsung (silicone) and I have to say it's actually really nice.

It literally adds no bulk, nice and smooth with a great grip to it as well. Will give this a go for a bit after using the Leather Case for a good while.

If anyone hasn't checked out the 50% discount on cases for the S10 range make sure you do with the Members App code :D

Same, my white Standing Case arrived today and it's great - worth the £15 I paid but no way would I pay the full £30!

FYI, I bough a soft touch silicone case from a Chinese seller on eBay, was £3.50. The pictures were of the real thing and I wasn't expecting much (I just wanted a red case). It arrived yesterday and it actually was 100% the real deal. There's a plethora of sellers on Ali Express as well if anyone is interested. It only took a week to arrive as well which was silly quick.

My phone (S7 Edge) was valued at £200, which was deducted at point of purchase.. They are now asking me to buy £100, thus valuing my phone to £100.

£100 is the maximum they can deduct, so I guess even if your phone is really smashed up they cant take more (this is in the T&Cs).
200 for a s7edge? Wow

Anyone on here getting the buds that already have the Airpods? Wondering if there's much of a difference between the two - outside of what the YouTubers are telling us

When I tried putting the SIM in on my S10e, the tray wouldn't go in because of the cheap plastic. Managed to squeeze it in tray 2 but won't be able to use micro SD if I go that route. Anyone had that issue?

Plastic of the tray itself? It's the same tray as on other phones, worked fine with my VM nano sim.

Yeah, I traded mine in for that.

But they found the screen had lifted slightly so I had to pay an excess £25, still a decent trade in I guess.

Still not had an email or anything about my buds. Just showing as validated on tracker, I've a feeling if I try to chase it up they will just tell me they have 30 days to dispatch but everyone seems to have them now. Annoying.

Will try them on the 12th.

Anyone finding the buds not overly loud?

Also, anyone used the screen protector on the Samsung website? Is it the same as the preapplied one?

Had mine validated on the 13th but haven't received them either. This was their response:

'Good Afternoon.

Thank you for your email.

The reason this may be the case is because the rewards are chipped in batches rather than individually sent to customers.

So your claim may have been validated on the same day as another customer, however your reward may be in a separate batch.

Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this causes.

Once the reward is dispatched, the courier should contact you directly to provide the tracking information.

In the meantime, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.'
