**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S10 Family Thread ****

The only thing that could make my experience better is a 90hz screen.

I've not had any of those issues reported and going by the general consensus in the last few pages, if it was a widespread issue there'd be some follow up action by Samsung right?

I never claimed it was widespread, but people out there are experiencing it. I personally didn't have any problems until I tried watching 4K HDR video, that's when it appeared. Now honestly speaking, how many people with an HK S10 are using it to watch 4K HDR content? Pretty few you would expect? So of course as a result, there aren't going to be many reports on it.

I know it probably reads like scaremongering but potential buyers need to be made aware of such things. You're buying a phone with the SD855 in it, at some point you're going to want to leverage its capabilities, whether that's through gaming or watching video. In a particular use case, one of them isn't working as intended, and that's a problem.

To be fair I think he was referring to my mystery issue with the battery life :p

Still dodgy as ever here and get more than double battery life on WiFi and signal strength isn't making a difference either. Really puzzling and I've tried all the fixes out there at this point.

But I don't have an S10 either! I am tempted. I have an S9+ that the camera is faulty - thankyou Carphone Warehouse. It also has the rear glass back chipped at the side and spider web cracked across - thanks again Carphone Warehouse. They refuse to stand up to the damage and having back and forthed with support and ceo support I'm about ready to throttle someone there or go burn their store down. All of which when googled appears to be illegal so as life is short, move on and have got a local fella to get a new back and sort the camera - only when ever I have a min to go back to his shop he is closed.

Having reset the phone it now activates in my pocket and dials through the recent call list. Have it locked, accidental touches whilst in pocket activated and don't have smart lock activated. I've also deleted the phone shortcut off the lock screen. Still activates in my pocket on occasions, too many occasions.

When I eventually get it repaired I plan to sell it and buy something smaller again. Possibles being the S10 or S10e or something??

No notification of the update for me, but it was there under settings so am now installing. Have noticed that it likes to drop Wifi until i unlock the screen again, wonder if this update will moot that or if it's just an energy saving feature!

One thing i've noticed with my S10 (snapdragon) is how reliable it is. My uptime is 900 hours (37 days) which is basically when I installed the June update, and it's been the same every month. It never crashes:)

do any phones still crash? I've had my oneplus 3t since day of release and its never crashed or hung

My software got updated to 1 July over the weekend, now the Always on Display clock and notifications are quite a bit dimmer than before in comparison. Anyone else noticed this?

I've sorted this now .... double tap the clock and change the brightness.

Decent video below for those disagreeing about the differences between the SD and Exynos versions. Obviously take what you want from it and understand that users have different needs from their devices and milage obviously varies but in my case I value battery life highly and hence why the SD wins out as I couldn't even get through a working day without topping up when I had the Exynos S10E but easily do so on the SD S10E

GSMArena posted one of their long term reviews, this time of the Galaxy S10+ - here - and I found it quite interesting reading, particularly where they were discussing One UI. Almost every other review of a Samsung device goes along the lines of "you remember the old Touchwiz? Well the new Samsung One UI corrects most of the problems," while GSMArena go into much more detail about some of the flaws (which they missed in their original reviews of the S10 series).

Anyone considering a Samsung device should give it a read, particularly if you want your phone to be just so.

I'm beta testing a network provider switch at work, and the phone they've provided me with is the S10. My main work phone is an S8. The S10 it has changed my opinion (somewhat) about Samsung's software (even though they're both running latest 9 Pie).

On my work S8 I have around 2-3 crashes per day (as in whole UI dies and phone reboots). It's incredibly slow, and generally not nice to use. Thankfully, since it's a work phone, it doesn't bother me; it just needs to make calls.

This new S10, however, is super quick. To the point where I'd say it's between 95-98% as fluid as a Pixel. There is the odd animation stutter, but it's such a huge improvement.

The only problem I have is that it's taken 8GB of RAM and the latest Exynos SoC to get there. At least it is improving, however

I am for some reason getting "moisture has been detected in your charger port", even though it has not been anywhere near water? I have tried blowing into the port and rebooting, but the message is still there.. If I plug in the charger it will just started beeping.. I gather this must be a software bug or sensor failure? Anybody else experienced this?

I Just had this on my launch day S10+. Intermittantly started a few weeks ago, then the USB Port became unusable during a holiday to Fuertaventura last week. The phone hasn't got had any damage and certainly hasn't been anywhere wet/humid.
Dropped it into the Samsung Service Centre this morning and we'll see what they say but I'll be jolly miffed if they say the internal moisture detection has been activated and refuse to do a warrenty repair.

e: They are repairing under warrenty, but don't have the part. Should be ready tomorrow.
