**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S20 Family Thread ****

I have seen that the S20 Ultra can now be picked up at a reasonable discount now it has been replaced and I'm tempted, how do owners feel about this phone now you have had it for a while, would you still pick it up, any real issues, I understand all the chip differences between SD and Exynos, this doesn't bother me.

With such resoundingly good feedback from this post I have gone for it anyway :D

Figured it'll be a nice upgrade from the Pocofone F1 for the missus, it's sure to be better than that and my S10.

If it wasn't for the lack of external storage I probably would have got an s21 as it looks better but we've broken too many phones over time, nice to have detachable storage.

Hmm been sporting the pixel 2XL for a few years but it feels like it's on its last legs. Picked it up for 620 when it first went on discount.

Charging port is iffy but now it's been crashing and this morning it took me 3 hours to get it out of the boot screen.

Thinking of picking up the S20Ultra at the discounted price is there any phone that can come close at 750 price point?

Check out the S21 Ultra deals at the moment. Amazon have got a good price currently with a good trade in deal.

Thanks for pointing that out. I think i can get Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G Smartphone SIM Free Android Mobile Phone Phantom Black 128GB (UK Version) for 860 without trade in. Does that seem right?

How you getting on with it?

I'm having to return my OnePlus 8 Pro as the fingerprint scanner keeps failing and only works after I reboot the phone! So thinking of picking up the S20 Ultra 5G?

Can't comment too much as I bought it for the missus but I have had no complaints from the missus apart from the usual stuff when you switch from one custom OS (MIUI) to another (whatever Samsungs is called....why don't I know.... :o Oh yeah, One UI). It of course blows the Xiaomi out of the water which is what you would expect.

I used it for a bit before handing it over and it seems to be a really nice device, feels nicer than my 10 to use probably due to refresh rate, the battery life seems pretty good, that's about all I can say really as compared to the 10 its just another Samsung if you know what I mean, more of the same, just better, which is what you expect for the next generation, if there is a negative it is purely the aesthetics it looks a bit crap compared to my Note 10 or an S21

My S20+ 5G died this morning, first phone I've had since the Motorola d520 that has died before a year is up.

It had been charging over night so was at 100% charge, used it for around 30 minutes, and the handset froze, ok I thought, I'll do the usual to try get it revived, wouldn't power on, tried volume up/down and power. Nothing. Left it on charge for an hour (no sign of it actually charging), try volume up/down and power still nothing. Guess its completely dead, zero life in it no matter what I do.

Thanks for the info :)

Received my Ultra S20 today, still getting used to it.

Early days but the battery is only about half as good as the OnePlus 8 Pro, which isn't good for me.

I'm getting a lot of phantom touches on the edges causing me hassle, hopefully when my case arrives that'll sort it, but it's worse than any other phone I've ever used?

The screen is absolutely fantastic, best looking screen I've ever seen, including the beautiful OnePlus 8 Pro, first rate!

Installed Nova Launcher as I hated the OneUI app drawer and a few other things, but on the whole it's a really sweet phone.

Oxygen OS is slicker and nicer than OneUI IMO.

New phone is never good first charge as you are doing lots of installs and playing with the new thing, it wlll settle, though you've kind of done a down grade interms of processor as the sd865 of the oneplus is more powerful and better on battery by about 20% most reviews do cover this, can't imagine a custom launcher is going to do wonders for battery life either.

s21 ultra would have been the step up.

never experienced a phantom touches mind you, reviews suggested the one plus was worse for that back when they were compared.

Yeah had the phantom touches on the OP8P as well, just a lot worse on the Sammy for some reason?

I bought the S20 Ultra on offer from Amazon as a handset only for £699, back up to £1175 today  so couldn't afford the S21, if this doesn't work out I'll either try another OP8P or just get a Poco F3 and save some money :P

Didn't think about the launcher taking battery, I'll keep an eye out for it.
