First impressions of the S20....

+ feels and looks great, nicely balanced
+ the screen is lush (hardly surprising from a Samsung flagship)
+ One UI runs great (again hardly surprising on day 1)
+ the 120Hz wasn't as in your face as I was expecting, however it is rather lush and I can see why you wouldn't want to go back (my wife hasn't really clocked it yet :p)

- I swore I saw reviews say the Bixby button has gone. Why on Earth does the lock button act as power on but not power off?
- I have absolutely no faith in the battery already after having a dreadful experience with my Note 9 (a gut feeling but I'd put money on it)
- camera bump :(

Overall I think it will be a solid phone and my wife already loves it. I haven't tried the cameras properly but the x30 zoom is fun :p. I think it has further highlighted for me, 90/120Hz is the future and a Samsung is unlikely to be my next phone.

Just on the Bixby button you can set it back to being the power button in settings.. no more anything to do with Bixby.

That said, Bixby routines are worth a look.

Ah sweet, thanks. Why the **** would anyone want it that way as default :p!? I heard a rumour they did improve Bixby's functionality a fair bit, just something I don't think I would use.

The voice assistant part is utterly pointless, the routines are something very different. It's essentially IFTTT on a hardware level so I have apps opening and closing/wifi on and off, the phone locking and unlocking based on various locations and states.

For example, if it detects I'm connected to my car it switches off the wifi and keeps it unlocked. You could go as far as starting up spotify and opening google maps for example..

It's always unlocked at home, I did have it turn my wifi on until I realised my 4G was faster :rolleyes:

Certainly am. I phoned them this morning asking for proof, they said they would send it within the hour. They didn't. Im at work now so will call in my lunch break.
 
Any one got a TG screen protector to recommend for the S20? Noticed one or two on Amazon state not compatible with the in-screen fingerprint reader.
 
They now say 4 hours. I always feel a bit like I have been lied to when I contact Three. I just have no confidence in their ability or truthfulness. I should probably switch but I never have issues with the service when it works.
 
Three have been having massive 4G outages as well, I've just gotten my PAC from them and I'll pay more for EE.

Initial impressions are good, 120hz is amazing and battery life has been acceptable so far.

I need to get a second charger for work, what are people using other than the official Samsung charger. I'd still want super fast charging.
 
Not blown away by 5g It was on 5g where I ran it. At least I ran the test at elite time lol.
