Wireless Stand Charger - I presume any will do?

Doesn't need to be the fastest in the world as it will generally be sitting next to me on my desk all day.

Arrived a day early, 256GB version. All setup decided to go fresh rather than transfer over everything from my S20 Ultra.

Nice to see Samsung have colour coordinated this year.
Last year I had a black S20 Ultra and white buds, this year I've got black phone buds and tag. A friend pre ordered the S21 in phantom violet and she got matching phone and buds.

Mine also came a day early, I have it now. Haven't really finished setting it up but...

- Screen is stunning. Lovely and vibrant, everything so clear and thats just on FHD mode. 120Hz is, surprisingly, a noticeable step up from the 90Hz on the Pixel 5.
- The device just looks stunning, lovely design, like the Phantom Black.
- Camera appears to be very good indeed. Can't wait to try this out properly
- Certainly was running warm but that's not unusual during setup
- Installed screen protector does feel a bit rough at the edges so I may remove it, but I'm going to wait until my case turns up first.
- I think the Samsung launcher is OK, personally, even coming from a Pixel. I could try a different launcher but IME they never run quite as well as the stock launcher.

More impressions to follow...

I am trying to use love launcher prime. but for some reason I am having issues, It will sometimes just stop working and revert to the Samsung ui. icons will go huge.
I always set my phone up as a new device i have experienced enough hassle with the smart switch to last me a lifetime lol

I found that the Samsung stock phone dialer apps kicks me back to the Samsung launcher which is odd. I've switched to Google's stock dialer and all is well.

Edit...

It's a handsome beast.

Been watching a few videos and think it was Jerryrigeverything that showed the camera cover is coated on the outside so is easier to get scratched, which is a shame. Be interesting to see how it holds up in real word usage though.

Will also be interesting to see if the other colours/carbon effect will be the same

Buds were in violet to match the phone?

I'm switching from a Nokia 8 to the S21.

Think that is why leather case is a good shout, besides being a very nice case it's one of the few that covers the bump also.

Anyone with the s21 seen how much SOT you can get? Mine got delivered yesterday so i sorted the basics and charged it up fully about an hour before I went to bed. So it was unplugged all night (lost about 5% in 7 hours) carried on setting it up today, with general web browsing and a few youtube vids. Currently on 6h 20mins SOT with 26% battery left. No idea if that is good or not but putting it here for reference. Will update what with what i get to I put it on charge next.

Should say thats with adaptive refresh and on average about 35% brightness i would guess. Its set to adaptive but been home all day so its not had the screen that bright

Apparently it could get better as it learns.
I've just hit 6h24min SOT with 46% battery left on my s21 ultra, but I've just been at home, on WiFi all day, mostly watching videos on YouTube, using the buds pro and browsing the Web.

Is that the s21 or s21 ultra. Much higher than my s21 with similar usage

Been using the Ultra all day and its safe to say I'm extremely happy with it.

Screen is amazing, and I've not even checked out QHD yet. It's just a beautiful thing to look at and use.

Once the phone is setup, it has run cool and feels very fast and fluid.

I thought I would hate OneUI coming from a Pixel, but I'm very pleasantly surprised. There was some bloat to battle through, but overall its minimal, but the sheer wealth of options, especially with the likes of Good Lock (as suggested by @smokedog thanks for the tip off) more than makes up for it; I was delighted to find the transparent navbar option in Good Lock, thats always something that annoyed me with the Pixel UI. Also, going from screenshots, I thought I would dislike the UI, but when you actually see it on the stunning screen and use it in real life, I actually think I prefer it in some ways to the Pixel UI, after a little bit of tweaking in the settings. It somehow just feels more fun to use.

Feels like a premium product, surprisingly good haptics, certainly better than either of my previous Pixels but probably still not quite up there with the iPhone there, but still satisfying and not cheap feeling.

A couple of surprises has been the finger print reader, which is fantastic for me, way better than the rear mounted Pixel readers, secondly, the built in keyboard somehow seems way better than gboard did on the Pixel.

Finally the camera, I haven't really got any amazing photos to share, but can confirm the pictures are extremely good all the way from 0.6x to 10x. Having never had a telephoto on a phone before, only on compact cameras I owned and stopped using years ago, I am blown away by it. The 10x lens clearly seems to work better with decent light, but overall, the camera experience is seriously good.

I've not tried the freebies yet, but even though I never thought I'd spend £1200 on a phone, I actually feel like this might actually be worth it. First upgrade for ages that has actually seemed like a properly good upgrade, which is great considering how underwhelming going from the 2XL to P5 was. Very happy so far!

@FishLicker

Nice summary. Yes the screen is great quality. Bright, uniform and just damn crisp and beautiful. No complaints there.

Samsung UI. For me it's borderline acceptable. Wish it had a few more useful options ann tweaks but heyho it's okay.

My front camera isn't perfectly centre in the cutout but I'm just nit picking. Never notice unless up real close.
