**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S21 Family Thread ****

Silly question but what charger are you all using as it doesn't come with a charger? To get the full 25w charging speed do you need to use a Samsung fast charger?
This is probably the only issue I have with smartphones being shipped with no bundled chargers. Personally I don't mind the switch as I generally use whatever chargers I have lying around the house from before. However, if this is going to become the norm (and we have no reason to believe it won't) then surely the proprietary charging technology will have to be opened up?
From one point of view yes Samsung (and other manufacturers) will want you to buy their own charger from them however on the flipside they may sell more phones if users know that the 25/30w charger they had from their OnePlus/Pixel/<insert other name> or indeed third party charger from the likes of Anker or Aukey to name two will also fast charge their new phone and vice versa.

Just some guidance as I went through all this when I got my S20 Ultra and finding chargers which would fast charger it properly, as Samsung use PPS (very few chargers support this). You need a charger that supports both PD and PPS, also a cable which has a ideally a USB-IF certified cable with e-marker chip.

I've ordered some 2 new chargers and cables with came today and tested with my S20 Ultra ahead of S21 Ultra coming, they the best priced and confirmed they Super Fast Charge.

The official Samsung charger is available from amazon direct. £18

Your standard 18w PD fast charge is suffice for most and is much more readily available.

PPS is also an open standard of PD. All OEMs would choose this if they really cared for the environment. It's fast and efficient thanks to its finely tuned and varied voltage output as the battery goes up in charge.

Anyone tried the Ultra with an S-Pen yet? Just wondering if it works like a Note or if there are any quirks...debating whether to wait for the possible Note later in the year or go for this with a stylus I already have.

Think like many I prefer a charger with more ports, as I typically charge other things at bedside or lounge and don't want multiple blocks. Especially as difference in price over the official 25w is same or a few quid.

Didn't say PPS wasn't good? I said it's simply included in very few third party chargers. Caused allot of angry people when Note 10 released.

Does the S21 ultra have 2 screen protectors by default? Pulled the usual flimsy one off and it looks as if there is aanother one stuck to the screen and stuck fairly firmly?

There's supposed to be a screen protector and the film which you pulled off. Some people are calling the film a screen protector. Unless you are saying there are two stuck on top of one another?

I think im referring to the film as one. I've removed the film so then there is a screen protector underneath it seems. Stupid question but is this removeable or will this be another Fold? :D

Thanks for posting. I've taken the plunge.

Looking at cases now. I see Amazon have a listing for the silicone case with s pen. Reduced. Hmm...my last few phones have had full leather, Stilgut cases, that also hold bank cards. Do I want a pen, more than somewhere to put notes and a couple of cards...

Fair do's.

My bad, The last paragraph was meant for @ GMac11, forgot to quote.

Thinking ill leave it on for now. I was hoping spigen did a glass cover like they did for my s9+ but it seems they dont do the glass ones anymore

The problem is or was the fingerprint scanner its hard to have one I think generally very few worked on the s20 ultra(unless they had a hole in them for the fingerprint scanner. A lot of companies advertised as fingerprint friendly yet when you applied them they did not work.
