Looking at some comparison photos from reddit, the aub9 update appears to preserve more detail.

looks more like the SD versions pictures now.

I've had 3 updates, AUB3, AUB6 and now AUB9.
If flashing manually, you don't need the incremental updates, just the latest

I'm on Vodafone and so far I've only had the Jan update.

Does it have any risks ?
I assume vodafone test the updates before the releasing them ?

I wouldn't say it has zero risks as there's always some involved when flashing things, but it's relatively safe. You just need to download the correct CSC and follow the instructions.
Odin is the official (internal) Samsung software for flashing images and can also be used to unbrick in certain situations.

The one I had today was the first one I have had during Feb, and that was the AUB9 it was 308.03mb(I think). How do you actually tell the build number of the build it has 3 rows of numbers

Which model? I'm on s21 and Vodafone and just had the latest aub9 pop up to install.

Brought mine from mobiles.co.uk though

Doesn't manually flashing updates invalidate the warranty? ie breaks Knox ? something like that. I upgrade annually and it goes back to Brightstar aka amazon via EE so I suspect they would check for that.?

Not if you're flashing official roms.
I have no idea regarding Brightstar though.

Speed-wise I have not noticed anything diff, it was already an incredibly speedy phone.

One thing I noticed by experimenting by putting my finger over the 10x lens, is that it's not always used by the camera. In fact, in most cases it wasn't using it. I'm still not au fait with how it decides which lens to use when zoom factors are selected, but it didn't switch to the 10x with zoom factors of 10x and over were selected.

I've seen it recommended to keep zoom levels to either 3x or 10x, if you want to prioritise quality, as everything in between is digital processing.

Indeed. Samsung don't tell you that in their adverts aye.

Google Chrome seems to be a massive problem at the moment in terms of eating away at battery.

The S21 subreddit is filled with loads of complaints too. My usage at the moment is 20.4% for 46 minutes usage.

Something really isn't right!
