**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S21 Family Thread ****

It was quite funny about 5 mins after I put the post up I got the email lol. out for delivery today.
Hopefully yours arrived ok.

I never really got much notice on day of delivery. I only saw the email from Yodel an hour before they knocked on the door. Was busy working and never saw the email until afterwards.

Issue you have here is that if you have a custom theme set from the Galaxy Theme store, then you enable dark mode (System wide), the theme is disabled and Samsungs default Dark Mode theme is enabled.

Ideally, it needs the option to allow dark mode enabled and to keep the custom theme enabled too. Otherwise, whats the point of having themes if you cant use them on system wide dark mode?

Today I learned...

Luckily I've not found a theme on there I like so am unaffected by this issue, but I can see how that would be annoying

Yep. Slightly annoying.

I've suggested it to Samsung via the Members app. Hopefully they'll implement something.

I tend to just look at here, tends to be the best theme developers that i've found: https://www.facebook.com/groups/themesforsamsung

Yes they arrived fine. I am gutted though no aftermarket memory foam tips yet though and the standard ones are not the best fit

It has been like that for a very long time. This is why your better off using separate elements, ie wallpaper. font, icon packs. sounds, rather than a theme. which gets around this problem.

Well, it's only been like that since dark mode was introduced into OneUI. It's about time there was an option to change it, otherwise, why bother pushing/promoting themes?

I was an avid button user. I gave it a try for just over a week then I was hooked. I find it very fast and intuitive. and you even gain a bit more screen real estate. That being said the first thing I install on every phone is the nova launcher prime(This is very cheap, a one-time small fee) I have tried other launchers but i find it a lot better. that combined with gestures is the sweet spot for me.

As for the camera situation. I find for my usage and the kind of pics I take it is really good. In fact, I feel the cameras on phones are so good now I even sold my DSLR. I think its more to do with the initial purchase. some people think of the camera as an added bonus and think more about other features and the phone itself whilst others are more like it's a camera with added phone features. I know there is something about the price of phones and everything should be near perfect. but at the end of the day, it's a phone. A very expensive phone il grant you. but all companies are starting to charge a lot more for the phones nowadays. I think the times of a cheap high end phone with all the bells and whistles is now gone.
What are the benefits to something like nova launcher ?
Ive never used them i normally just stick with Samsung default

My freebie Buds Pro and SmartTag arrived this morning :)
Hope mine turn up I've not even had a update.

Timeline for me was:
> Claim validated on 5th Feb
> Claim "shipped" on 1st Mar
> Delivered by Yodel today, 3rd Mar
> Claim validated on 10th Feb

Is the S21 much better than S10+? Just been updated to Android 11 so maybe not worth an upgrade yet,?
I would wait if you can I had a s8 and it was just worth the upgrade for the price.

Really struggling with the fingerprint sensor on this. I frequently use up the 5 attempts to unlock. I've tried recording 2 profiles for each print and still having trouble.

I'm wondering if it's worth removing the screen protector. Has anyone taken theirs off? Presumably the glass underneath is fairly tough. I don't think my s8 had a protector and it was fine for several years...

Yes it is, I had the same issue, so I removed the screen protector I installed and it was a lot better.

if your talking about the factory screen protect, it should work with it on.

Mine has been a lot better since I've started pressing on the screen more, my last phone was fine with a light touch but the S21 seems to need a bit of pressure to get a good read.
