This is real right? This phone will do this? Omg this is amazing. I can bin off my Chargie devices finally.

Yup on the battery page there is a protect battery button now that stops charging at 85%, surprised it has taken so long. Came with the Android 12 /One UI 4.0 update.

Suits me as I mostly use my phone tethered via Dex so it is always on charge and the battery just serves as a UPS

Ordered the S22 Ultra 512GB, got a tracking number but says due on the 25th still.

Not too bothered about the battery tests as these aren't indicative of real world scenarios. Efficiency is always going to be lower than the iPhone, but then you'd have to buy an iPhone.

Not sure what benefit that would have, it's end of the chain, you'd need another port to pass through, at the moment my screen does this, one port in for power, one for the 10, if I unplug the power the 10 will power the monitor, though Screen on time drops to about 3hrs, obviously, the external screen is much bigger the only thing I would have liked the ability to do would be to wirelessly charge headphones/watch whilst Dex ing but samsung doesn't allow this. At the very least I can just unplug the charger and power the screen from the phone whilst I charge the charging case.

Decided I'm going to give mine a good go for a month or so, having used my Pixel 6 pro for the last week having packed my S21 ultra away for trade in really not a fan of it and it will be going on eBay. Got my s21 ultra out again to tinker with and it's so much nicer to use and more responsive, fingerprint reader, screen etc. If the s22 Ultra is at least as good with better camera etc with the stylus it's a win in my book. Will just need to tune to get the most out the battery

45W charging whilst not being fully utilised it's a solid improvement for 30 min dash charging. Pixel is @ snails pace.

Just spoke to EE about my order, straightened out the trade in and the discount I had - £62.40 a month for the 256GB S22 Ultra. 100GB data and 1 smart benefit.

The advisor just told me that the delivery date is next Monday!

I'm not fully understanding your setup.

However my point was to power the phone off the cable so the battery cycles aren't used up when @ 80%.

I'd imagine that is what it does, similar to when it is fully charged at 100.

As for my setup, phone into portable touch screen, it's how I use the phone at my desk, I never pick it up, two usb c connections one for Dex and one for power, though the phone can power the screen by itself if needed.

Wasn't going to bother again this time as I'm still happy with my 3 year old S10+.

However given that Samsung are offering £370 trade in it reduces the 256GB S22 Ultra to £879.

I also pay £7.99 for Disney plus so i'll save that for a year.

I can get an unlimited data 24mth SIM on three for £16

It means i've now potentially effectively got the option of getting one over 2 years at an effective £44.65 for 12 months followed by £52.63 over the second 12 or going for 36 months & getting one at £32.43 for 12 months followed by £40.42 for the remaining 24.

It's suddenly quite tempting.
