**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

That is a guarantee your phone will be with your tomorrow. It was the same for me when i got my iPhone Mine did the exact same thing, then the next day in the morning I had txt from dpd to choose my 1 hour slot..

Thank you hope it does arrive so can have bit of a play around with the phone. Just looking at cases UAG monarch is the best case but I would like a lens cover. Nilkin and spigen cases have camera cover but saw one video not sure which case of the two but it doesn't protect the edge of the screen.
I will also get screen protector not sure which ones are best. I thought tampered glass protectors were the best but saw few negative comments on amazon which is a shame as it came with lens protectors as well as screen protector

I ordered the EGV flexible screen protectors after a few in here recommended them. You get 3 in the pack but my brother needs one so I'll be fitting 2 of them this evening.

EE have just sent me a confirmation txt that its with courier so if you haven't got the DPD app or had any contact from them, as soon as you get the EE txt it means it's on route...

How is this going for peeps? I've come to the conclusion that it is generally all round excellent and have had none of the issue that people mentioned early on. I'm amazed at the lack of smudges/prints etc on the back panel as well. Mine is still scratch free and the Tauri screen protector has been no issue too.

Overall I am very satisfied.

Yep all good here - none of the launch bugs although having a Graphite meant I skipped the first two firmware releases which were probably bugged. Tauri screen protector seems a lot better after 24hrs for me - the Samsung screen protector pre-fitted to the S10 was slightly better but it's not far off on the S22!

Only suffering from the GPS problem here. Waiting for a firmware fix. Not a huge issue for me because I'm not needing it every day. But if it continues without a fix I'll try returning for a replacement. .

I have ordered the Nilkin CamShield Pro case maybe I shold have gone for the ring stand one but prefer the look of the cam shield.
I have not got any message from EE or dpd to say phone is on its way so doubt I will get it until mid next week which is dissapointing considering my monthly bill with the phone has started since yesterday

I will have a look at better cases but don't really drop my phone and only two times I have damaged phone is once dropped at girlfriends house and the edge of screen hit an object and the other month at work I was banging my thigh agaisnt a washing machine which was 3 high to pale space between other washing machines and again edge of screen cracked hairline cracks but more have appeared and longer overtime this was with the UAG case

'Johny is currently making delivery number 44. You are delivery number 83.'

Get a move on Johny!

Joshua, my delivery driver, appeared outside at the beginning of the hour window yesterday. I went to the door ready to greet him, after a few minutes thought he was taking a while, went back to the window and he was driving off! He'd gone to the wrong house!

Fortunately I saw him drive down a dead end road so I waited outside for him to come back and got my package!

First EGV screen protector went on lovely, but I noticed what appeared to be a fingerprint on it which I thought I'd somehow got on the back side, and part of me wondered if it was on the screen from the factory, so ripped that one off, did anotjrr and got dust in the corner.
Applied the third one, went on lovely until I put my case on (Ringke matte back) and found the edge at the bottom was being pushed by the case.
It would appear that rubbing the bubbles out around the edges will stretch the protector! I didn't fancy doing another one today (I've got Tauri and Amfilm also) so tried rubbing the protector the other way and it shrunk back far enough that it doesn't interfere with the case, and is sticking down fine.

Phone seems reslly nice so far, not noticed any glaring issues. The red certainly isn't as red as it looks in the renders, more of an orange or salmon or something.

I tried to use the stock launcher but have already switched to Nova! I use folders on the home screen, and my dock row is all icons where swiping up on them opens another app (like phone icon if I swipe up it'll open Duo).
I use gestures, and by default swiping up quickly opens Samsung Pay. It's going to take me some time to get used to swiping up and holding for longer to bring up the task switcher. I may end up disabling the SP short cut, but having tested disabling it, found the pause for the switcher to come up is the same time, so will try to get used to it! I'm certainly not used to the switcher automatically switching to the next app. Google Pixel stays on the same app, and allows you to pull text and images out of the screen which was really handy sometimes!

Is there a way to change the stock emoticons on Samsung?

Enjoy my wall of text I'm sure someone will :D

Loving mine, no issues with performance, it's remained super fast at everything. The screen is just stunning. Bluetooth works on everything I've connected to the phone. Call quality has been fine, signal strength and Internet has been spot on. I've had one occasion where the GPS didn't locate, but a quick toggle sorted that, and it's been faultless ever since, in daily use.

Battery life is plenty good enough, although I've not really done a proper test down from 100% to zero. That might be scary as I'm a heavy user :D
The super fast charging v1.0 is also plenty quick enough for my needs when I need a battery boost.

The camera is really good, I just need to gen up on how to use it best. I've taken a few pictures around the garden, and the the normal 3:4 (not 108mp) seems to do a better job at everything while also giving the multiple lens options, and scene optimiser.

The only thing I am getting slightly tired of this TPU screen protector, I really do prefer the slick glass feel, so I've ordered a full glue glass screen protector kit. Will see how that goes :)

Oh and I've got my favourite font installed, which goes nicely with the square design of the phone, so happy days :D

That the one you use LOCA to secure?

I used one on my old S21 Ultra. (Spigen brand)

I found the following issues:

1. The supplied tape to block the LOCA from entering the speaker grille, crumpled up on contact with the LOCA, allowing the glue to seep into the Grille. I'd use Electrical tape instead.
2. The LOCA glue leaked down onto the side buttons. Had to clean with ISO before UV light. Messy!
3. for some reason, the LOCA glue was thicker in the middle of the screen, so i had a slightly off-white band about 1.5" wide.

Would I use one of these again?
Sure, but only when the phones a bit older.

I have a friend who used it on his S20 Plus, he had a badly scratched screen. The LOCA filled the scratches and now you cant see them at all. So they clearly are pretty cool for that.

Yeah I've had plenty of experience with these loca glue glass protectors. Years ago after watching a few videos, I decided on my first try to do it my own way :D
Plastered my Note 9 in sticky tape, and away we went. I did the Note 9 twice in its life, after accidentally catching the edge after a year and lifting a corner.
My S21 Ultra, I did the same way. But that was more of a pain in the a$$ due to holding down the fingerprint area to thin the glue underneath while curing takes place. And no doubt the S22 is going to be the same pain  Yay!

Spigen provide a weight to be placed over the fingerprint sensor. problem with that. Is it pushed the Glue out lol

Good job I ordered a case as my phone has arrived going to girlfriend tonight so will try out the satnav although not sure I want to use the phone with no screen protector or case as it seems these screens are more easily marked.
I have only cracked 2 screens they were on note 9 and s20 plus. Note 9 I dropped at girlfriend wasn't high as was from bed table and it hit her clothes rail while s20 plus side of screen I must have banged it agaisnt washing machine trying to move it so becuase of this I'm bit cautious now

Anyone finding the screen doesn't activate quickly enough once you pull the phone away from your ear to hang up or bring up the keypad? Seems to take maybe a second or two of staring at the phone before the screen fires up so the dialler can be used.

So this morning, the postman delivered a letter from Samsung, with my return pack included.
Even though a return pack came with the new phone, and I've already sent my old phone to them, AND got a confirmation email to say they have received it.

Funny thing is they did the same thing when I traded in my old Samsung watch last year, followed up by some emails saying how urgent it was, and to get it in the post. At the time Samsung support told me to ignore the emails, which I did and they went away.

Which did you order? Let us know how it goes!
I am wondering how you seal the earpiece speaker as it is literally a tiny slit in the glass!

I don't mind the feel of my EGV TPU film protector, it feels smoother than the Spigen film I have on my P6 Pro which applies with a liquid and leaves an orange peel texture and appearance in the light.

I'd try glass but am weary of getting glue in there!

This one from Amazon:

I've used them before. The 'fitting' cradle has a sponge at the top and sides to stop the glue entering the speaker and buttons. The bottom ports need stickers over them to keep the glue out.
It's messy, but the end result is great.
