Cheers to whoever gave the tip about the easy transfer from Google auth to the new phone. Seems Microsoft Auth just did it without me even getting involved however

I am slowly moving everything to microsoft auth, cba with the lack of transfer with google if I ever lose my phone

I am considering the S23 Ultra coming from a S21 Ultra what is the battery life like? Also the trade in offer is very tempting as selling it otherwise you wouldn't get as much.

Significantly better battery life than the S22, which was better than the S21, so yeah, much better battery.

S21U to S23U, noticed an improvement for sure on battery life even with the S23U display being set on the highest res possible. My S21U was accepted and completed as part of the trade in deal today too :D

So my 65w charger and 100w USB C cable only charges my S23 ultra at about 25w according to the readout on the USB C cable.

To get the 45w speed, does the charger need to state it supports 2.0 charging?

Yes.

PPS charger rated @ 11V 4.05A minimum.

Your 65W charger is 20V 3.25A max.

USB C charging is such a minefield lol. Thought I'd be able to get 45W charging as I have a 65W charger that does PPS as well as PD, and a 100W cable. Didn't realise there was this 3A Vs 5A divide too! But sure enough plugged in an it's only doing super fast charging, not super fast charging 2.0.

I like USB C and all, but all the different standards for both data transfer and charging / power supply are such a mess and really need to be labelled / advertised better.

Had my S23U for a couple of days now and generally really like it :). Camera is very impressive, battery seems decent, and although it's big & heavy compared to my old S10 I don't think it's _too_ big and the extra screen space is really nice actually. I think in hindsight I should have gone for the dark green colour rather than the sky blue, but hey it's certainly a bit unusual and I still like how it looks!

Got some of the samsung screen protectors as it seemed like there wasn't an obvious other pick & although slightly difficult to apply (didn't help that the bits you peel off were dusty themselves out of the box, and the alignment jig thing didn't stick very well), I'm happy with it for now. Screen still looks great through it, and only got a tiny air bubble with a dust speck up near the selfie camera. When I first installed it it looked terrible with lines where different bits of the peel-off bits had been stuck to it etc, but overnight it sorted itself out. Fingerprint reader seems to work decently with them too.

I think I'll get a case with a stand in it at some point, but for now got a Spigen liquid clear to keep it safe, and it's fine - should stop it getting scratched when put down on surfaces, a small ridge around the camera lenses, and it looks fine too, showing off the phone colour & design.

The whole charging this and what's needed was basically mentioned earlier up in the thread!

Has anyone's 1TB Ultra preorder been delayed again?

After getting delayed once, I was told it would be delivered on 24th Feb so I gave samsung the benifit of the doubt and waited but now samsung send me another email saying its delayed till 31st March and gave me a £100 voucher.

A big company like Samsung can't keep up with demand wtf. Apple do a better job of keeping up with demand and getting their phones out there to the people who've preordered.

I'm never ordering anything direct from Samsung again.

Does the voucher have an expiry date? May come in hand if you're upgrading next year.

The battery life is quite something on the 23U.

I'm on my days off shift at present and haven't done a great deal other than the school run. My battery hit 15% late last night at which point I had the following:

just done a order for the S23 Ultra after umming and arring for a while went for the graphite 512GB plus discount worked out to be around £985 including trade in plus included the 2 year Accidental Damage + Theft i think its a good deal to be honest. I haven't seen one in the flesh yet but seen endless reviews and everyone seems happy with it so far.

Received my S23U today. Finally back to Samsung after two and a half years of iphone then a week with a pixel 7 pro.
Fantastic phone so far. Battery life seems pretty good so far. Out the box at 1100 and did the transfer of everything from iphone.
Started on 50% battery now on 35% with 3 hours SOT.
My first bigger than 6.1 inch phone feels great.
